My kid worked in Daycare for emergency responders in 2020/2021. They were allowed to stay open. She then was a in Nursing school and doing doordash, intacart, even worked at Dunkin Donuts ruing school. She even went to spring break in 2020 and 2021. Her sister did the same. Lived in a dorm with thousands a kids and went to football games and worked as a temp taker for awhile and did work in retail. My third kid did the same. None ever got sick. It is imaginary for folks with immune systems who are out in real world every day. I myself took Train to work, rode NYC subway, worked in a crowded office for 20 years and never got sick one time. Then in 2020 went remote and when came out of my cave in summer of 2022 with no immune system I was sick all the time. Was like six months of that till I am now back to being healthy and working in person again. |
Until such time as there is unlimited sick leave for ALL U.S. workers, including for minor sickness like the common cold, then you are dreaming. If every worker took time off work until their cold or cough was completely gone the productivity in this country would completely tank. Do you seriously think it is the "right way" for ALL doctors, nurses, health care workers, firefighters, police officers, EMTs, electric linemen, trash removal teams, etc. to take off all the time they need to completely recover from a common cold or cough? Coughs, on average, take six weeks to resolve. Imagine what the ERs would be like if you needed to take yourself/your child there and they tell you, "Sorry ... no staff available. They're all of because of coughs." Or sorry - we have no ambulance staff. They've all got a cold, sniff sniff. |
Coughs can last for a weeks— go to work |
That’s not how it works. |
A crummy doctor had a bad cold and instead of canceling got me sick. I have health issues so it lasts weeks and rounds of antibiotics and steroids. You suck if you deliberately spread it. |
Sorry but you have a crappy immune system. The world is not going to cater to that. |
No, people did not come in with bad colds and the flu. |
| Inject some bleach, drink a pint of raw milk, take a handful of steroids, and get back to MAGAing. |
You are an ass |
| I take sick leave for a couple of days, and I come in when I’m feeling good enough. I don’t understand the question here. If you are short on leave, you have the option to advance sick leave. If you are out of leave entirely that’s a you problem. |
