I would go to work unless I had a fever. Maybe wear a mask.
Why go to work when you feel like crap though? at this point I feel zero need to self-sacrifice. I don’t get sick that often so I can take 3-4-5 days until I feel myself again.
NP. At my company, we don’t have a separate leave bank, only PTO. If I took 5 days every time I had a cold, I’d never be able to take vacation. I don’t take off unless I have a high fever or am vomiting or something like that.
I’ve been in the workforce for 28 years and have only worked for companies with PTO for vacation and sick being combined. It’s very common, more common than seperate sick time no? For in person industries yes, you come to work if you’re under the weather but no fever / vomiting for 24 hours - like kids going to school. Now that we all know about masks and there isn’t a stigma attached to wearing one, seems like a good idea for people who are under the weather and are required to either take PTO or be in person to wear a mask.
