Blair and Whitman did what now? |
| Do some schools not participate? I’m not seeing anyone from some big schools like St. Albans, NCS, Georgetown Prep. |
| This is a list of candidates and basically just kids who got perfect SAT or ACT scores |
They competed. They just were just far behind local public schools and privates such as WIS. Sidwell: 6 GDS: 4 NCS: 2 STA: 4 |
Wow. The Big 3 took a paddling (yet again) from local publics. What the hell are we paying all this money for? |
Troll. |
Umm, most of the kids with high scores don’t bother to apply. There’s a trigger process that requires the students to decide. But sure, WIS students “paddled” the other schools. |
|
Many of these were just nominated by the DC gov; hence the large number of public school kids.
year after year it's private school kids (Almost always STA, NCS and Sidwell) who actually win because that phase is not based on local officials but merit. bookmark this site and come back to it--one of the two STA kids will win in the end. |
No one who knows anything about DC politics would imagine that anyone in the DC government would have nominated 11 students from Walls. |
They list candidates based on the student's address, not the school location. |
Don't count on it. Last STA winner was in 2020. The other winner that year was from BASIS DC. |
| Kids who ED don’t care |
| OP, what an obnoxious post - especially because this is just a list of candidates that are the top scorers in their states. |
Yes, they would, though undoubtedly at least a few of those kids had the perfect score in one sitting. If you look back over the years, DC seems to pick a few darling schools each round, and not always just public schools. |
This is not a fully accurate statement. Many kids on the list do not have top SAT/ACT scores. That is just one way, and the automatic way, to get on the candidate list. Kudos to all the kids recognized! |
