Even without pay compression it's not worth it. Tons of extra work and stress for like $10-$15K more per year no thanks. |
Agree. Then you have the only people who will take a 15 are narcissists that like to control people. |
| Pay compression is nuts. It is really frustrating. I’m dialing way back on my commitment. |
People with less than that live there too. There aren't that many gs15s |
All our GS15 were 45+ directors or such pushed out of private industry moving to govt for stable job to work till retirement. They aren’t bad and often come in with good ideas from industry. |
That is not usually the way Govt hires for 15s. They would go for someone that has experience of working within Govt and have good rapport within various groups. That's why you see 90% of the 15 hires were previous feds. |
Okay, but our GS14 all make almost make the same in non support role, and so few willing to take those bigger jobs with essentially zero comp. So we have to go outside. |
| *non supv |
Like everything, this differs by agency. Lots of our GS-15s are from outside because most Feds don’t want the extra work of being a supervisor. |
Why would it be this high? |
Because DC area would get locality adjustment of more than 0.5%. I think last year it was 1%. |
| Why hasn’t it been released yet? |
Because they are not ready. |
| My husband just got his 14 and no reason to go to 15. I’m a 15/9 and he only makes like $12000 less. The 15 will come with tons of work and headache. His superiors have been grooming him and specifically asked if he was going to turn down a 15. Answer yep…. Buying back his military time in years more than makes up for difference between a 14/10 and a 15! |
Cool but what does that got to do with availability of 2023 tables? |
