at DMV COLA onto the base pay in that fedpay table. I know 15/10 will actually be capped at $183,500. but it's interesting to see that number should be 12k higher if the cap isn't tied to level 4 of the executive schedule. For a temporary fix they should tie it to level 3 of the executive schedule. that's probably a 2 year band-aid fix.

What about executive service? Anyone know if their pay will unfreeze? Or if there is a cola in the freeze?

well the tiered executive schedule is stupid too. Technically a GS-15 could earn more or the same as executives at tier 5 and 4. Do we even have tier 5 and 4 ES positions anymore? Who would ever do SES for $140k?

Lol. EX schedule will also increase by 4.1%. Last year they increased by 2.2%. It’s been 3 or 4 years since EX pay was frozen. They increase too when there is an across the board pay raise. EX just don’t get the COLA portion.

It’s a bit more nuanced than that. BUT, you are right. The level of pay at each tier of the EX will increase accordingly

With November 2021 CPI + November 2022 CPI, it's 14% inflation. Why are we only talking about 4.6%??? Should be more like 10%+

It's because DC included WVA and rural PA in their locality.

Yeah, EX is definitely not treated the same as SES. They increase the numbers in the table every year because other salaries are benchmarked to them, but my understanding is they have been held constant to the pay freeze for a number of years. They definitely don’t make what the table shows.

The locality pay is supposed to reflect comparable private sector pay in the area, not necessarily COL.
