I’m thrilled! last week I found out my $129k student loans were forgiven under PSLF. And now I’ll make out at GS-15 step 7!

Ha ha me too. $128k and some change. I'm a topped out 15 but whatever. That $128k forgiven under PSLF would've actually cost me about $230k. I've got 15-20 years left so that equates to a nice annual bonus.

Congrats! And it was the last of my debt.

Congrats to you too. I meant I have 15-20 years until retirement. All of my debt was forgiven! YAY!

I agree! I’m a 14 step 10. I would need a $20k to $25k increase to take on a supervisory role. Congress and the president needs to fix this pay cap issue, as well as raise executive pay. If their goal is to have horrible talent in top positions, then by all means keep status quo.

And they need to cap government employee healthcare premiums.
This pay adjustment may look good but it continues to not meet inflation, and healthcare premiums are jumping more this year.

New question: I am an "AD" employee (but not political). I started in November 2021. A brief conversation about it last year my boss said while AD employees dont automatically get the COLA Agency leadership has never not extended it to them.

Looking back I am pretty sure I got the across-the-board pay raise but not the locality boost. Is this correct and should I expect the same this year?

Me too. I'm a 14/10 nonsupervisory. To make more, I'd likely have to take on a supervisory role at the same pay and then apply for more senior management roles. Pay at this level certainly isn't much of an incentive.
