I couldnt imagine getting a 10% raise.

If there a GS pay cap, how do some Feds at other agencies who don't follow GS pay scale make more than the GS pay cap? Are they exempted from the pay cap?

They’re not GS employees. There are several different Federal Pay Scales and special pay rates in various agencies. The vast majority follow GS or something akin to it.

eliminate the pay cap! OR raise POTUS salary to $750; VPOTUS to $400k; SCOTUS JUSTICES to $350K; Congressional salaries , generals, political appointees and senior executives should all be $250 to 300k. GS-15 max out at $225k

That is such wishful thinking!

The pay raise is proposed in the president’s budget. The 4.6% is from the budget released in March based on economic data from 2021.

ok, i'll bite. how did you come up with that number?

at DMV COLA onto the base pay in that fedpay table. I know 15/10 will actually be capped at $183,500. but it's interesting to see that number should be 12k higher if the cap isn't tied to level 4 of the executive schedule. For a temporary fix they should tie it to level 3 of the executive schedule. that's probably a 2 year band-aid fix.

So 15s get more than lvl 4? You know that’s never gonna happen.

They have rasied it before to get around the cap issue like 15 years ago.

The GS pay cap being tied to the Executive Schedule (and by default, to Congress' pay) has got to be one of the most nonsensical laws in the entire government.

Maybe if you guys started actually doing your jobs decently you would get a better raise. Government is a cesspool of mediocrity. Where the 40th percentile from state schools go to die.

It’s a mix of:
Jealousy at our work/balance compared to our compensation
Justified resentment at the lazy feds wasting tax payer dollars
Lack of understanding about how hard working many feds actually are

I’m on the AD schedule. Do we get the annual COL increase or no?
