| Robert White's "jobs guarantee" scares me enough to not vote for him. I do not want to go back to the bad old days when DC government was packed with incompetent, unhelpful employees who could not get fired. No way. |
I've lived in the city for 30 years and I remember well the Barry years. The Bowser administration constantly reminds me of it. Nothing is on the up-and-up. |
Isn't Robert White deliberately evoking Barry and his "legacy"? Certainly not Bowser. |

I don’t get why so many people are down on Bowser. If you’re a progressive/far to the left, then yeah, it totally makes sense why you wouldn’t like her since she’s moderate (for DC) and business minded. But if you’re more centrist it seems like she’d be a good fit. I’m a bit to the left of her on some things (like taxing high income earners), and if it weren’t for Covid I’d probably vote for a Robert White for this reason, but with downtown struggling so much from Covid I will probably vote for Bowser because of her close ties to the business community.
Seems like some other commenters are alluding to corruption within her administration. Not sure what those commenters are referring to. |
Bowser just doesn't do anything well. She sometimes paints herself as more business-friendly, but she falls really short and ends up being business-crony-friendly. Same how she uses progressive language, but falls really short of being truly progressive. She's just not principled. |
| Does anyone here honestly think Robert White can win? The last major poll showed him barely beating someone who thinks the Jews control the weather, and his last-gasp attempt to get Trayon off the ballot failed badly. |
| I am voting for him 99% because he is not Muriel Bowser (I'm a Ward 4 resident who has suffered through her various reigns) and 1% because he went to my law school. That's it. Bowser is terrible and needs to go. |
She's corrupt and literally bought her home with Jemal developer kickbacks. Hard pass. |
Do you deal with the DC government in any day-to-day capacity? With Bowser, everything is transactional. So-called civil servants don't do things because it's their job, they want to know what's in it for them. This attitude starts at the top -- with Bowser herself -- and it permeates the bureaucracy. If you want anything at a policy level from Bowser you better be a big campaign donor; if you want anything from the bureaucracy you better have a stack of gift cards to spread around. |
Well, Brandon is gone. I'm not going to give up on White. Bowser is awful |
People who hate the mayor and would never vote for a Neanderthal like Trayon White. |
She's already won. Both Whites will split the opposition ticket, as usual. We deserve so much better than Muriel. |
Who does like the mayor? She's so fake it's painful. |
I can't stand the mayor but will nevertheless be holding my nose and voting for her because of R White's aforementioned strong support of virtual schooling. I'm going to die mad about the way moms and kids were thrown under the bus. |
Holding your nose and.voting for the mayor... who is the one who actually called the shots on the outcome you didn't like?? Explain that please. |
