DC Mayor: Tell me if you are supporting Robert White and why

This. I don't agree with him on everything (he's probably too soft on crime, for instance) but I don't think he's going to end up corrupted or in the pocket of the developers, which is really saying something around here.

Agree. Bowser is prone to long standing corrupt practices within DC government. Robert White doesn't seem vulnerable to corruption. I'm a ward 3 voter and I like that he seems to take his time to analyze and balance what is right for the entire city as a whole.

What evidence do you have for any of this? During Covid R White did zero to help schools. Instead he used schools as an electoral issue, pandering to the WTU (to strengthen his bid) and doing his g-d best to disrupt school reopening so he could criticize. Using school children for politicsl gain is pretty freakin corrupt.

I think there should still be masks in schools, so voting for someone new. We have a COVID outbreak in this city and Bowser is tweeting "DC is open!"

It's the golden age of thoroughly uninspiring DC city politicians.

Since I really hate R White, does it make sense to have T White second in my ranked choices? T will never get elected, but can take votes away from R, right?

Trayon absolutely is going to take away votes from Robert, partly because they share a last name and voters simply will mistakenly vote for him but mainly because it gives Robert zero chance to get any votes in Wards 7 and 8, where Trayon is very popular despite doing literally nothing make his ward a better place.

Sorry but is T. White or R. White campaigning on bringing back mask mandates (but only for schools)?

The CDC says 75 percent of kids and 60 percent of adults in DC already had Covid by February. So, I don’t think masks or school closures for that matter made much difference. Everyone is going to get Covid, masks or no masks.

Bowser's administration is hiding the number of cases and outbreaks.. If we knew the true number if cases, we could do smart things like mask after outbreaks. Even though many of us have had COVID already, this doesn't mean that we shouldn't keep trying to prevent infections. My immediate family avoided COVID until this year when mask mandates and case reports were dropped. I have extended family members with long COVID so this issue is important to me.

^ And if I don't support Bowser, my options are Robert (by all accounts a decent person) or Trayvon (of antisemitic conspiracy theory fame).

Everyone is going to get Covid. Sorry but it’s true. You need to think of Covid like you think of the flu.

We already know the true number of cases

He's not Bowser. She's proven herself to be an incompetent moron.

It seems like any candidate DC puts forth will be pretty much useless, but at least White hasn't already shown his ass.

Oh lordt. Yes he has. He's been a councilmember, so we have evidence of the things he proposes and votes for.

But....if no one is agreeing to do what you want, then I don't get why you are complaining about Bowser.

How is this a response to "is T. or R. White bringing back mask mandates?"

I don't think that either has suggested bringing back mandates, but we can't really discuss that issue until we get case data. I trust a non-Bowser candidate more than Bowser to provide case data. And this is a 180 for me as I thought she had a good plan and a good advisory team back in 2020.

This is completely crazy. You need to start thinking about coronavirus like you think about the flu. It is here and it is now endemic and it doesn’t matter what any politician says or does. Get vaxxed, assume you’re going to get it sooner or later and live your life. That’s all you can do.
