The CDC says a larger percentage of adults in DC have had coronavirus than adults in Florida. So apparently mask mandates accomplished bupkis. |
No! My unvaxxed under-5 just got COVID from the school system! I don't agree that it's time to treat this like the flu. |

Other than failing multivariable calculus, what else can you tell us about yourself? |

I’m voting for White because Bowser had made it clear she DNGAF about schools and I have kids in DCPS. When I’ve brought issues to White’s attention, he at least acted like he got it and cared.
Under Bowser, Walls got watered down. Wilson got watered down. And the Capitol Hill middle high school situation continued its dysfunction. Bowser had a lot of time to make schools in the city more academically rigorous and she chose to do the opposite. |
R. White's plans for schools won't address any of your concerns: https://robertfordc.com/issues/schools-that-work-for-all-students/ |
Not at all. The schools will get watered down even more. |
Lol. So instead of voting for someone just neglectful and indifferent, you're voting for someone who will deliberately do the things you hate. |
My kid got flu multiple times from school and daycare. And is fine. Just like your kid is fine. Your unvaxxed 4 year old is lower risk than vaxxed elderly. |
hooray a non-covid schools opinion! what makes you think R White will improve the rigorousnese of DCPS? |
He’s running to the left of Bowser on almost all issues. It is unlikely that he will do anything to strengthen schools in the way that you are looking for. In fact if he does anything at all with respect to schools, it will be in the name of closing the achievement gap. You are not going to get a better (to you) result from White on that particular issue. |
| Our house is already sold but we're still living here and thus entitled to vote here in a couple weeks. Thinking of voting R. White to increase my property value... in the suburbs. Playing the long game. |
Wow. You sound so deeply misinformed. Um, everything you’re complaining about would be far, far worse under white. |
I completely understand where White stands. At least he’s honest about it. Plus he’s in favor of eliminating mayoral control of schools so is possible we can get a school board elected that doesn’t advocate for these dumb things. Bowser is ALREADY watering standards down AND she wants to retain control of the schools. Lesser of two evils. Plus I’ve met White a few times and he seems thoughtful and like he genuinely cares about the city. Bowser only cares about Bowser. |
| We recently got a Robert White mailer in Ward 3 that spoke to his plan of addressing the rise in crime - a multi stage plan v Bowser’s “4000 MPD”. This made me think he was the toughER on crime candidate, but this thread seems to suggest otherwise? Crime and schools are my top issues, and if he is in fact willing to acknowledge that we have some serious problems he’ll get my vote. |
