Yes. I wear an 8, am 6’1” and weigh 150. Also you can try the model on at the store and order same size in T, that’s what I do at Gap, ON and BR. |
I’m the IF above. I do two 500/600 calorie days and eat all dinners with the kids. Typical 500 day is: Coffee with nutpods when I get up Lunch is one egg plus 3/4 cup egg whites, spinach and tomatoes and a dash of shredded sharp cheddar Snack - half an apple with a light spread of almond butter, baby carrots, sliced cucumbers and salt, steamed spinach, etc. Dinner is a veggie stir fry with chicken or salad with chicken or a soup. Kids will have the same, but also with bread and butter. Lots of veggies and protein. No empty calories. I eat this way on Monday and Wednesday. And I focus on food selection the other days. We still do Friday pizza nights. And I have two alcohol drinks a week. I buy my favorite beer so I can truly stick with 2. If I bought wine I’d happily convince myself it was better to have 4 glasses over a few nights than have to throw out the leftovers. |
5'9" here, 178 lbs, 43 yo and would like to get back to 155 one day, which I haven't seen since pre-kids.
Already do cycling for heart health, but my goals are to do 50% of my workouts as serious lifting to build muscle (for bone health as I inch toward menopause as well as body physique). I'm also cutting out alcohol and all snacking after dinner, which is where I have the least control. Easier to brush and floss after dinner than even have one tiny snack, which just opens the floodgates. |
Many people who do IF still have coffee with cream and don't consider it breaking the fast. Based on when you eat dinner, you could start out with a window 11-7 or 12-8 and then gradually try to shorten it. |
I appreciate this thread so much!!
I am 36 years old. 5’9 and 178. I feel my best closer to 160 but 145 is what I weighed when I got married and wow- I looked good! I am very muscular with big boobs. I am between a size 8 and size 10. |
Hey, can shorter people who weigh a lot, but are very muscular, also join?
5'5", 51. Currently weigh 160, would like to get down to 150. Still can fit into a size 6 at 160, believe it or not--I am very, very muscular, with medium frame. When I was at 130, in my youth, I wore a size 0 or 2. People are always shocked to hear how much I weigh. So I get it! |
We take all comers, especially the dense ones! (I mean dense of build, not of skull.) |
New poster. I'm 5'7" so not "tall" like y'all are tall, but in 2021, I lost 40 pounds via a combination of slightly increased exercise and intermittent fasting. My window was 12-8 because it allowed me to eat lunch and dinner with my kids as well as a sneaky pre-bedtime treat with my husband. I did not consider coffee with cream to be breaking the fast. The main issue I personally had was that I could no longer take meds or vitamins of any kind in the morning because taking them on an empty stomach would make me nauseous. I actually made that mistake earlier this week and the nausea was so bad I actually threw up. I take meds before bed now. I was 190 after Thanksgiving 2020. At the end of February, I was down to 170, and in July, I hit 150 (my goal) and stopped tracking my weight regularly. However, when I have checked in, what I have learned is that 150 is my ideal weight. Much below that and I start looking simultaneously gaunt and flabby. I'm 41. |
Yes! Finally found my people. 5’9 with a long torso, muscular build, and large bust. Currently 168; happiest around 148. Not sure it will happen, but am doing all the things to get there. Lifting heavy 2x per week, peloton another 3x per week minimum. Tracking all calories with Noom. I tend to gain all over so my 29s and medium tops still fit, but they’re pretty snug. |
Can I join? I'm 5'9" (long torso, regular legs) and currently at my highest weight ever -- 212. My ideal weight is 160. I have lost a lot of weight in the past (my lowest weight was 148) and kept it off for years pre-kids but I really struggle right now. I know what I need to do, I just ... don't do it. Help!
I need to: - exercise, especially weights - go to sleep - stop snacking - drink more water I have done noom and WW in the past, with both successful and unsuccessful phases. |
Umm that was my lowest weight at 5'4 and I had 20% body fat. ![]() Please ensure that muscle is not lost on your voyage to some ideal weight. |
I'm 5'9, muscular / dense - daughter is D1 very muscular college athlete so we accept that being not thin has benefits! Long torso. Accepted that 160-165 looks good enough on me, 155-160 would be amazing Recently post many months of injuries crept up to 170s so trying to get back down. With some joint / nerve issues that make it harder to do the workouts I used to love.
BR/ Gap tall are best for shirts for me! I find reasonable intermittent fasting works for me - i.e 12-14 hours And watching on the snacking / sugar. Lots of walking now. Some weights and light running/ biking if at good spot. |
Yippee! No judgement. Does it help that I have a long torso? Lol. I sit taller than my long legged 6’3 husband. So high-waisted pants looks very good on me to lengthen my short, short legs. I don’t have the pants situ as you ladies do. Quite the opposite. So my ideal weight is 120lbs but at 20% body fat it’ll be a challenge to get there. I’m currently 126lbs. All butt and thigh. Maybe if my fat was distributed less in my butt and thighs I’d feel better. Sigh. I’m 47- double sigh. |
OP here: I’m only three days in and I’m finding IF surprisingly easy. I’m drinking coffee in the morning, then having a big, vegetable-heavy salad at 1:30 or so. Then I’m not starving while I cook dinner (I’m a terrible grazer) and eat a normal dinner with my family. Also cutting out cheese, my undoing. Averaging four miles of walking per day. I really need to do strength training but I’m so time limited… |
I am you - except I would be comfortable at 165-170. I need to do the same, and also drink less alcohol! |
