You libs should try to imagine your kid having to attend a school like that.

What say you?

You disgust me, making such a comparison.

Then stop raping her. You are using her and you are disgusting.

Go talk to your minister. You need some soul cleansing

Uh ... that is like saying "This family died in a fire because their landlord didn't install smoke detectors - STOP USING THEIR SITUATION TO FURTHER YOUR AGENDA AGAINST SLUM LORDS - you are LITERALLY killing them AGAIN!!!"

And when it comes to rape the ONLY discussion is how and why the PERPETRATOR committed this crime because there is no fault with the victim, so yes, everything about the perpetrator is relevant. -NP

Does anyone know this guy or know more about him? He's obviously doing this for the fame since he's already on FOX news, lol

I went to college with him. Had mutual friends. From what I remember about him, it is not surprising that he took this case. Big talker. Opportunist for sure.

What's the opportunity here? Just the fame, IMO.

Will other lawyers respect the fact that he took this case? I'm not a lawyer, so I have no idea how this is perceived.

Most importantly, I'm curious as to who's paying for his fees!

He want to win. He believes his client. No fame, no political aspirations.

People respect him already, they won't question why, they are lawyers, they have no souls, they don't care. Lawyers defend rapist and murderers,i t's their job.

Pro bono.

Gang raped at 12/13? My god that poor girl. I hope she has access to all the help she needs and is never made to feel it was in any way her fault.

No, people probably stopped talking about it because MCPS tried to cover it up. If it wasn't for parents emailing the BOE and sharing links this would probably get swept under the rug also. That's how MCPS rolls.

Yes. MCPS does sweep teen crime under the rug. I agree.

People only care about this one specific crime because it is a hispanic person (which is rare) and it is fashionable to be xenaphobic.

Seriously, your post makes no sense.

Are you saying because the victim was Hispanic, all the posters are being xenophobic? Then, why do the posters even care? You're implying people don't care about black and Hispanic people, but then you're upset that they're angry about this rape because the victim was Hispanic?

The perps are Hispanic. Yes, when a white person is the rapist and nothing is on the new/in the paper and all of a sudden a Hispanic person is a rapist and it is all over the news. Yes. That is the definition of Xenophobic, creating an idea society that all the crime is from one group of people (hispanic) by putting it in the new and not covering crimes by white people. That is how Xenophobics get people on their side. It's called propaganda.

FFS. There are stories about white rapists in the news all the time.

The issue here is NOT that the attacjers were Hispanic. The issue is that the attackers were here ILLEGALLY.

There might be some people who are racist, but not everybody who is anti-ILLEGAL immigration is xenophobic.

It might be convenient for you to lump all people together and yell Racism, but that doesn't make it true.

Personally, I don't care what country these attackers came here from. If they were here ILLEGALLY from China or from Iceland or from Australia.

The point is that our current immigration policy sucks and needs to be reviewed.

This. Some people on here are very misguided about why people are outraged about the rape. This rape as brutal and awful it is, has highlighted that we have such a messed up immigration system. This system, ultimately enabled these 2 accused rapists to come to the United States illegally, released by our government despite getting caught, and enrolled into a public high school as 9th graders despite their age and immigration status.

Talk about drama. Raping her, are you serious? Pls get off your soap box. In fact I would argue that your refusal to admit how THIS particular rape could've been ultimately prevented is pretty disrespectful. By the way, no hate for immigrants from me as I'm one myself. Most of the people here just want to fix illegal immigration but of course you like to omit the word illegal to further your cause. We just want people to abide by the laws of our country but clearly that's disgusting to you.

No. I deal with rape day after day after day. You are exploiting this girl and this case. Nobody is trying to create laws to lower the incident for rape.

Not one person.

I agree with you on one point in bold ... You only care about illegal immigration. You are the first to admit you are using this girl to further your interest in illegal immigration. I commend you for admitting that.

I want people to abide by all laws. You want Hispanics to abide by laws and white kids to get a break, because they are just kids, just malong mistakes, just being boys .

you say "I just want people to abide by laws", but you don't want white boys to abide by laws just Hispanic boys.

Clearly holding all boys responsible for following laws is disgusting to you
.

Your thinking is flawed. Your inability to understand why people are outraged about this rape is a little shocking to me. Why can't we be upset for the victim of the rape and at the same time be appalled about the immigration policies that ultimately enabled these pervs to come to our country to conduct that horrific crime? I also disagree with your comment about "not one person" is trying to lower the incident for rape. REally? Because I have seen many comments from people on here about potential ways that the school can improve it's safety measures. And do you disagree that if the pervs were never allowed to come into the country in the first place, then the victim wouldn't have been raped? Finally, where in my statement did I even mention white boys and that I only wanted Hispanic boys to follow the laws? You are making stuff up in your head!

Most importantly, I'm curious as to who's paying for his fees!

I'm also curious if this will actually help his career, or more hopefully backfire on him. Or he will become the "go to" lawyer for rape defense. Not what I would want to become known for, honestly.

A little offtopic but I am curious. Do defense attorneys ever "lead" their clients to what would be their best defense?

Think about it, if he can win this, all the rich Potomac parents will pay him a gazillion to defend their boys... That is a lot of cases that can pay cash.

He is a criminal defense lawyer. This is his career.

I suspect he's doing it just for the fame. Tucker asked him if he (the shyster lawyer) would be comfortable putting his own daughter in a classroom with his (rapist) client.

The scum lawyer wouldn't answer.
That says it all.

That is the question that I want answered! From him and from Jack Smith. And from all the other posters who say this was consensual or that we shouldn't judge until the trial is over.

This. Parents are putting their kids in privates.

Regarding the claim that it was consensual sex... I have trouble believing that any woman would consent to anal sex in a toilet stall at 9am. Much less a 14 year old girl.

Complete scum. How does he show his face in public, wanting to defend the perpetrator of such a brutally horrendous attack, as the child was screaming for help from the school bathroom.

Both sides of this coin make me so tired. Can't we discuss like adults?

Both sides have valid arguments.

These things are NOT mutually exclusive. Recommend you look at the World Rape Statistics map that was posted in the Off-Topic Forum. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/630041.page

Yes, it is horrific! And the school did not notify parents until weeks (!) later, supposedly to not hinder the investigation!

And they sued the hell out of the school district I hope.

This is such a horrible story!
