Private School Lacrosse Thread

Landon losses to the MIAA. As I said in an earlier thread, Landon ducked the better MIAA teams this year. As a private that can play anyone they should really play the best local teams.

Landon graduated the US Lacrosse POY in Justin Shocky and two other UA All Americans in Buller and Fowler.

While I don't think Landon will be as strong in 2018 as they were last spring, its hard to argue against a team that was ranked #1 in the Nation in several lacrosse polls and media publications.

And how do you know Landon ducked the better MIAA teams? I doubt you are a coach but rather some nut-job parent!

No doubt a bitter GZ or Bullis dad who can't stand the fact that the great GZ and Bullis teams of recent years never achieved the #1 national ranking that 2017 Landon obtained.

CHC lost impact players as well. No chance Landon beats the top miaa teams last year, not from what I observed.

Landon was ranked #1 in five out of the 7 publications. They went undefeated while playing the 3rd hardest schedule in the country according to Laxpower. Calvert Hall also had a great season in winning Baltimore based MIAA.

Being the avid HS sports guru you claim to be, you should also know not to put too weight or stock into a summer league lacrosse game with a running clock with no timeouts. Follow those of you who care, Calvert Hall beat Landon in a summer league contest this past weekend as a HS Invitational tournament.

Its really time for you to move on to a new topic.

Sounds like excuses to me. Landon got beat by chc and probably would have been destroyed by mcdonough just like many of us predicted.

CHC is absolutely loaded. They lost JT and Curry and an average FOGO and that's about it. They couldn't even play all their best players last year because they were so deep. They are clearly one of the top teams in the country this year. And Landon only lost 6-4. Landon looked great all weekend.

Really, get a life. Landon played a little sloppy and did not come up with grounds balls. They will challenge for another #1 ranking next year along with others like CH and McD. 2017 Landon team greatest boys' lax team in DMV.

Best DC Metro team ever was the 2006 GP team. Undefeated and they dominated every local team.

The Landon 2002 is hands down the best team to come out of the DC area. Several of the kids on that team ended up being collegiate all Americans at the D1 and D3 level. They also had a Tewaaraton winner in Matt Ward.

au contraire - the BL team of '34 with Okey and Jack Kelley was one of the most dominant ever in the state of Maryland.

2021s are a solid team. But under the new rules, boys won't be getting serious looks for 2 more years. By then, some parents may get antsy and defect to more established pipeline club teams like Madlax, VLC and Crabs.

2020 is a great team, but the rest of the club is struggling. The Performance legacy kids they had were not that deep in talent and it is a dogfight to get kids who are being wooed by other clubs.

2021 DC Express AA team went 6-0 in Long Island at National Lacrosse Federation (invite only for very best clubs: Team91, LI Express, Crabs, Eclipse) and then went 6-0 at CrabFeast (beating the Crabs in finals) a few weeks ago. They are the best team in the country at their age group.

Looking over the results of the NHLS, I was surprised to see how poorly GP performed. Not sure if they we're missing any guys or not but it very welll could be a long year for Lil Hoyas in the IAC. It appears Landon and Gonzaga will contend for D.C. area bragging rights with Bullis and Saint Stephens right behind them.

Who are the top players on this team and where are they playing in High School?

I sure would not want my child's name and high school blasted on a blog or list serve. PP, please consider the privacy of minors before requesting this kind of information.

several on the roster are current Landon students, a few Bullis kids and some GP kids. There are also a fair amount of kids on the roster who go to Whitman.

Ironically the team is coached by a Bullis father and Bullis coaches.
