I have caught a lot of flack for trying to keep the immigration status and ethnicity of the suspects out of the discussion (admittedly unsuccessfully), so I would ask that you not make this a religious issue. Moreover, as I'm sure you know, it is almost certain that the suspects are both Christians. So, in a sense, those parents are doing what you suggest.

Jeff, I hate to make your life harder but I want to point out one thing. How come it is ok to talk about race, ethnicity, immigration status and religion in almost all conversations in this country now - but not on the MD Schools forum?

Religion is very much in play in our daily lives at schools now. Muslims can be vilified for covering their head or praying at schools (all in the news lately). And if travel bans can be imposed on Muslims, if Sikhs can be shot because they wear a turban, swastikas can be drawn, synagogues can be desecrated...then religion is very much part of the conversation, is it not?. What would have been the reaction if two Somalian-American Muslim boys were the accused in the HS rape? Even though they would have been citizens, their origin, skin color, religion would have become important. So, when Christians are doing the same crimes, why are we to keep quite?

Furthermore, we are not even sure now if this was a forced rape or consensual encounter that went too far. The fact that these boys did not flee the school is pretty telling. But, this is not what is being discussed on this forum is it? The thread about security becomes talks about illegal immigrants or non-Whites. Well, I am not able to flee anywhere even when I know that Christians are providing me the reasons to leave.

I completely agree that the fact that they did not flee the school is very telling. It makes me think that they've RAPED before and gotten away with it, so they weren't even the slightest bit worried that they would get in trouble. It makes me think that they've gotten away breaking the law so many other times (think, crossing the border ILLEGALLY), that they're not afraid of punishment.

They dragged a 14 year old into the bathroom, and the one attacker threw her coat over her head on the way out. This was NOT CONSENSUAL. She was 14. Repeat that to yourself.

Exactly.

Parents are now being made aware that there are:
Illegal immigrants flooding MCPS schools and using a large amount of its resources
Criminals (immigrants or not) allowed to be in the same English class as sweet Snowflake because MCPS allows them to come to class with everyone else.

Jack, when asked by a parent at the meeting Tuesday night if known criminals are allowed in classes at MCPS, said "yes". MCPS is a public educator and, therefore, has to educate the illegals, criminals, stoners, weirdos and freaks. Everyone.

If you don't want your kid to be in that environment, then you have two options: Private or homeschooling. And if you can't afford to do either, then you can hope for DeVos to come in and start handing out some vouchers so you can get out of this shithole of a school system.

So disheartening. I have always been a huge supporter of public schools. I think they're so important for so many reasons. But, MCPS is just TOO big and so poorly run. We've been in the system for 5 years and it's just been story after story like this, with poor management by the BOE and Superintendents.

Is this really news to MCPS parents. Most their kids drink and smoke pot so they are actually criminals. So they not only know criminals are in the classroom they lobby to keep criminals in the classroom.

These kids were scheduled to take Biology their junior year. That is a freshman class that gets team taught. Half the class ESOL the other half Gen Ed. So these students would be 20-21 in a class with 14 year olds. This guy is strictly playing politics.

There is NO way two illiterate illegals test at even 9th grade levels. They should not be in the building, period. Further, our tax dollars shouldn't cover a dime of their education.

This.

How about a sentence saying the girl was treated at an unnamed hospital and released to family/friends.

Not even a word.

I understand you can't say anything about her (rightfully so), but you can at least pretend to care about what happened to her after the rape, (Oh sorry, I mean 'incident'.)

Why do you need to know the name of the hospital.

There are only about 3 SANE nurses in the whole county. She was seen by a SANE nurse. I don't think it is up to the county to educate the public about how rape victims are treated since up until now you could not care less about rape victims and you still don't care about the other 200 victims in the past year. You only care about the ones that can support your Xenaphobia.

No, I am not talking about potheads that smoke in the basement while the parents are upstairs. I am talking about straight-up, criminals with ankle bracelets, parole officers, the whole nine.

I have personal anecdotes, if you want them. I have had, on average, two per year in the 15 years I have been teaching in MCPS.

These boys did not have ankle-bracelets or parole officers. Their only crime at the time was walking into the US. Walking.

I don't have anecdotes I have hard facts from law enforcement, statistics... there are over 200 rapes per year in Montgomery county, very few perpetrators are Hispanic and less are illegal Hispanics. MOST RAPISTS are white... all of them are boys.

The cold hard truth is that most RAPISTS are the pot heads and alcoholics that drink in their parent's basement.... white boys.

?? No, I didn't say I needed to know the name of the hospital. I said they could leave it unnamed.

And, you really have no idea about how much I care or don't care about rape victims.

WTH?
Firstly, NOBODY said to name the hospital.
And, why the diatribe against nurses? What in the hell are you talking about and what exactly is your point (other than that you don’t like nurses)?

What matters here..........This poor young girl would not have been brutally rapes if these two scumbags had not been in the country. Period.
Try telling her parents how many white boys rape girls.
