where are the DCUM psychics? Any predictions? |

It is so strange this issue is framed as a stand off between two sides who need to compromise when only one of those sides is actually demanding anything and the other has already voted to reopen the government with no strings attached. |
I'm still with the guy on the 40's pages in this thread that said it will end two Wednesdays ago. He was in the know. ![]() |
Who would trust Nancy to bring up border wall funding again? Trump sure doesn’t. I wouldn’t. |
Because the Dems won’t bring up debate on border wall unless forced to. Dems never compromise. |
Who would trust Trump for anything? He's already gone back on his word many times. |
BS. They compromise all the time. So do Republicans. It's gotten harder for both sides, but it does happen from time to time. It happened last month until Trump blew it up. Gridlock in Washington is what Trump was elected to fix. All he's done is make it worse. |
Why didn't Ruan and McConnell bring it up in 2 years? |
Not sure what promises/word Trump has gone back on. I think you are so caught up in your hatred for the man. He’s keeping his word to his base, as you would expect him to do. He’s not going to do what George HW Bush did when going against his “no new taxes pledge” and get his base upset when he breaks his promise. |
Compromise in big stuff? I only see Republicans caving. |
He has made "the wall" into a partisan issue. It didn't have to be. He actually had a deal in February, but he reneged under pressure from the right. Now it's a wall, only a wall, and nothing but a wall, but he'll "compromise" and call it a steel slat barrier. This is like negotiating with a kid who won't leave the grocery store without a candy bar. It doesn't work. |
So Mexico's paying for the wall? Cool, let's reopen the government. |
He said he wouldn't shut down the government until Coulter tweeted him. Some on DCUM said he didn't say that, but everyone knew it, which is why the Senate pased a budget last month and the House was about to. In February he reneged on $25 billion for the wall in exchange for DACA. If he was interested in keeping his promise on the wall, that was his best chance. He blew it. He promised an infrastructure bill. Five hundred infrastructure weeks later, no bill. Why doesn't he keep that promise? |
Like what? They got tax cuts and judges. That's all they ever wanted anyway. And they got it without compromising an inch. |
