Gaza War, Part 2

That is a very wonderful and useful rhetoric

All that aside, I do not see peace as a reality. There would have to be major concessions on both sides and a concrete plan for how to implement the 2 state solution,

If peace doesn’t come, I see Israel as inevitably being at war with more nations

So you don’t want to engage in the question? What do you want?

But despite the keyboard warriors (that is all they are, they cannot fight back for some reason in a ear they started with Israel so they are using the power of the internet to tell Isreal pretty please stop hurting us)
Israel will not cease to be a country.
Jews will continue to exist as a people.

These things are not synonymous.

Yes...that is why they are two separate sentences. But both are still true.

Likewise: same can be said about the Palestinians and Gaza and West Bank

So what needs to happen for Hamas to be defeated?
Destruction of all of Gaza ? Civilians all displaced in a desert?
Assuming some could survive and be left behind, what about them?

I see there is no exit plan for this war, ground troops are going to be engaged for a long time, civilians are going to die or starve.
So what is the likelihood of this conflict not escalating?
Are the neighboring nations really not going to do anything?

And if you still defend Israel on this, what would it take for you to actually not agree anymore?

Surely an attack from neighboring nation would be devastating when all military forces are focused on Gaza

Am I the only one who thinks Netanyahu should retire

You don’t seem to catch on, there are no red lines when it comes to Israel. This includes the nuclear option.

Captured Hamas structure = pile of dead Palestinian children.

No. Hamas is a heavily militarized death cult.

Yet, Israel does all the killing.

Even if we were operating under the barbaric an eye for an eye, Israel has slaughtered twice as many more children and babies than the total number killed by Hamas.

How many more do they need to feel avenged? Will Israel not stop until every man, woman and child in Gaza is dead? I wonder how long they’ve planned this genocide.

Again, this War will cost Dems the presidency. Trump is out but Biden has already lost.

Agreed. Biden’s press office had to issue a correction when he spread the fake propaganda about beheaded babies on 10/7. As if that wasn’t bad enough, since then, he’s said he doesn’t believe the death toll in Gaza.

“I have no confidence in the numbers the Palestinians are using.”

That clip is going to play over and over again during campaign. His legacy is going to be a genocide denier.

No, he’s a genocide enabler. I will never vote for him

You do you, but um, the alternative is much much worse. You can disenfranchise yourself if you want of course. Personally I look at elections as a choice between different versions of reality, and pick the least bad one.

I can’t stomach genocide. I also cannot align myself with people who openly support it . It’s my red line so will vote third party. Hopefully Ds will separate themselves from ethnic cleansing. Shouldn’t be that hard of an ask

There is a difference between killing people in a war and "genocide". It doesn't matter how many times you say the word; it is simply not what is happening here.
Do you understand what war is? And what happens during war? Do you understand that wars have been raging all over the world your entire life? Wars involve blackouts, hunger, thirst, buildings turned to rubble, dead children. It is hell and it's been happening somewhere since the day you were born and for thousands of years before that.

It seems like we have a lot of people who've lived in la-la-land, then saw some TikTok videos about this conflict, learned the word "genocide" and have run with it, barking all over the Internet for weeks.

Lol how the heck is this a WAR? This is a one sided conflict with one side getting 3 billion dollars every year in military aid from the U.S. and the other side throwing random pathetic rockets which seldom land anywhere. A war is between two militaries, two armies, two countries! This is not a war! This is one country trying to kill an entire population because they believe they have the God given right to do so.

You suggest Israel responds with an invasion to behead Palestinian babies, rape their women, and kidnap elderly? Would this be fair in your eyes?

Honestly that would have been better at this point. Beheading a few babies would be better than refusing fuel so every baby in an incubator dies, and a bunch of pregnant moms miscarry, and then hundreds more die in bombings.

Yes. Please just bomb them all instead of slowly depriving them of oxygen, water and food. That just psychopathic behavior but I guess that is all we can expect from Netanyahu and his minions.

Seeing some of the images coming out, I am actually at this point. Raze Gaza. Complete the genocide. But do it swiftly so we don’t see type of slow drip torture of children.

They want America to withdraw its support from Israel and they see that as the problem taking care of itself--Isreal will then be at the mercy of its neighbors. See post above.

I am tired of this becoming a US issue.
US Jews often act like they care more about Israel than the US. That is not cool and they need to be called out on that.

Cool, now do Ukraine.

We seem to support Israel for ever. Ukraine is for a specific period. If Israel will collapse without massive US support, they need to figure out how to get along in the region. Jews like to act like Israel is amazing but it is nothing without the US. Get real and stop living in your imaginary world.

Ukraine will collapse without US support. Israel falling would have very grave consequences for the US. Are you unaware of what those are?

So, maybe people should stop and ask themselves what they want to see happen before they talk.

Ukraine would have devastating consequences for not only the US but Western Europe as well
Israel and the Middle East is a lost cause

No I don’t. I asked you to tell me what you want for the Palestinian people that doesn’t require the elimination of Israel and the extermination of Jews living there. It’s very telling that you won’t say.

This is GENOCIDE no matter what you say. Half the Palestinian population is under 18. Do you guys have no shame? Do you guys not fear your God? Do you think your God will be in favor of taking the lives of these innocent children?

This in insanity. This mindless bombing is not killing Hamas. It is creating more Hamas members by killing people’s entire families and making them harbor even more resentment towards their occupiers. Netanyahu couldn’t care less about getting Hamas. Hamas actually helps his agenda. Pretty sure he willfully ignored the signs of an imminent Hamas attack because it gave him the perfect excuse to go in and annihilate the Palestinian population. There is no way the IDF and Mossad did not know what was coming with all their intelligence and support from the U.S. The IDF just wants to kill all Palestinians and the world is just watching as this genocide is taking place. What a sad world to raise our kids in.

The blame falls on Hamas.

Nobody disputes this. But the question to Israelis who care is what is your responsibility? Palestinian children being killed in your name should really make you stop and think. And do not use the “this is war” excuse. Palestinians are not a free people able to make choices for themselves. They are under military occupation. They are not recognized internationally. Half their population (in Gaza) is under 18. It’s not a fair fight. Open your hearts and realize you have a duty to these kids just as you have a duty to Jewish citizens.

That is the point they don't care. Isreal needs to fail and if the U.S. along with oh well. They will just take all the money they made in this country as economic migrants and move to whatever country replaces Isreal.

So you are unaware then about the impact of what happens in the ME on the rest of the world. Read up on that and get back to us.

So a nuclear option?
Another Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
How do you create a small enough nuclear bomb that would only hurt Gaza?

My question is could the situation get so bad in Gaza that Israel even looses support from US

It is more disturbing that this blank check to Israel is entrenched in our leadership.

A United States representative even wore his Israeli military uniform to congress. I can’t imagine any elected official doing this for any other country and not being called a traitor.

This is so creepy and wrong. In theory Brian Mast represents Americans in Florida. In reality, this picture tells a very different story.

This is the IDF uniform. The same IDF that is committing genocide in Gaza.

You think Israel will fall and cease being a nation without U.S. support so this is why this is your focus now. You do not care about U.S. domestic issue and so called time being taken away from those (oh but anyway U.S. can do more than one thing at a time, support allies and take care of domestic issues)

Nope. People are reacting to the fact that this guy supposedly represents the U.S. first and foremost, but he’s parading around in another country’s uniform.

You don’t get how our government works then. His constituents elected him, not you.

He’s voting in issues that impact others outside of his constituency. You don’t understand how representative government works.

Also, if his constituents fully support this, I wonder where their first loyalties are.

I doubt he ran for office on a platform or pledging allegiance to foreign militaries so I’m betting his constituents did not expect this!

I bet his constituents LOVE it. I wouldn’t love it, but he’s not my guy on the hill. The US had all kinds of people in it.

How would you feel about a Muslim-American in Congress wearing the military uniform of his ancestral country? Would the same standards apply? I highly doubt it.

Nope wouldn't like it but oh well I am sure you have double standards. Such as Hamas can attack due to decade of oppression from Israel but Isreal should stop its attacks because Palestinians have babies.

I’m able to see these are two completely different issues. Question is why can you?
