But I think people are slowly becoming more aware of what they’re accidentally signing up for, now that Hamas has escalated this situation. Young people are having second thoughts. I think Hamas seriously miscalculated on 10/7. Burned a lot of sympathy. |
I’ve read much of the original thread and the arguments for Israel boil down to: Well what do YOU think Israel should do? (Respect the Palestinians in the first place and not empower Hamas) And Objecting to Israel is antisemitism. Everything in the 1000+ page thread boils down to these two sentiments. It’s very hard work to justify the collective punishment and annihilation of 2 million people, and posters here are lazy. |
I think it’s very much the opposite. I think the goodwill many had unquestioningly for Israel is forever gone. |

I grew up watching mainstream news, and news about the Israel-Palestinian conflict never made sense. The commentary was always “Palestinians did X, and 90 Israelis died in the fighting. Israel responded and 500 Palestinians died.” Footage would always be of Israeli people, with like a split second of suspicious looking Arab men running about. I think most people don’t think too hard about this kind of coverage. Then social media came along. I am seeing instagram posts FROM people in Gaza, describing what is happening. How they can’t shower, how they don’t know where their families are, how children are trapped in the rubble. And so, I think a lot of people are beginning to put some pieces together and are realizing… Israel doesn’t seem like such a “good guy.” Then of course there is the fact that Israel is described as an ally in the Middle East but we never actually hear about them actually doing anything good or beneficial for the US. We don’t really understand the purpose of utility of Israel. Then of course we always hear about the billions and billions of dollars that go to Israel while Americans struggle to pay their bills. Israelis have universal healthcare and we don’t. I think things are inevitably changing. |
Respect them in the first place or you would have not been terrorized--sounding like street thugs who are always talking about pride and honor if you disrespect me I will cap you! Life isn't a 90s rap video Palestine supporters. Yeah so pin the post above so we can all see that yes, they see the Hamas attack as justified, because they were disrespected. |
I’m betting on a different horse. People are starting to learn more about what Hamas is, and what role it has played in Gaza. A few weeks ago, college kids had no idea that Gaza wasn’t governed by Israel. They bought the apartheid analogy. Now, a few weeks in, people are learning the truth and are starting to question wtf Hamas is doing with all of the money it has (and where it gets it). Hostages are not free yet. Hamas can end this war, and probably will surrender, after its leaders run to Iran. |
Again, let’s establish something: Israel created Hamas. Then Israel empowered Hamas. I guess that was a bad idea. Sorry, you can’t pretend that Israel is a good faith actor or that the Palestinians, as a people, have been treated fairly or that history began on October 7. It just doesn’t work that way! The history is there for people to figure out. |
What is changing? You are sitting on social media absorbing rhetoric while eating fast food bed rotting. You are not the Israeli govt they are going to do what they need to do despite the tik tok brigade. |
Would someone please translate the above. |
Agree. |
Please don't use cultural references you don't understand |
Naftali Bennett’s “squeeze play” strategy actually seems like the best one out there. |
I guess I hit a nerve. 😂😂😂. Keep it classy! |
