My friend's mom had her sixth child at age 47. She was pregnant at my friend's wedding.

She was pregnant at her daughter's wedding? That is beyond disgusting. I would have urged her not to attend.

Why? It’s not like she was actively getting pregnant right there.

40 is middle age and too old to be having babies.

Says what authority? Try and stop me.

Hey fellow 40+ ladies, let’s play a game. Every time Op posts, go have some geriatric fun with your husband - the kind that may or may not result in a gross geriatric pregnancy

I’ll go first! I turned 40 last summer, my youngest is 2 and I’m wavering on a third kid.

Thanks for asking!

hehehe

My grandmother had her first at 16 and last at 40. As many people have already mentioned, women having babies at 40 is not a new concept. Her two oldest kids had children while she still having children. Not an usual story in Irish Catholic families I'd imagine!

I had my youngest when I was 40. Just the way it worked out, I was focused on my career and had my kids 35, 37, and 40. It is what it is, I'm just happy I didn't miss out on the chance to have kids and that we went for #3.

No it’s not.

I understand the economic and cultural differences for waiting to be older, but biologically you are at menopause age.

Nope, I'm 45 and not even in premenopause. Yes, I'll be 62 with a 20 y/o. Birth in general is pretty gross and kind of works the same at 20 and at 40.

Are you the type to think periods are disgusting and other normal bodily functions? You sound incredible immature.

A couple of years ago my 40ish neighbor was having her 3rd baby, with her 20-year twin daughters as her birth partners. I love it.

I had unprotected sex for 10 plus years. 8 of which were with my husband. I got pregnant and miscarried 3 times at 36, 38, and 38. I randomly got pregnant at 41 and gave birth 3 weeks before I turned 42. I literally had one good egg. My mom was 36 when she had me. My grandmother was 42 when she had my father. It is what it is. I was on the pill from 18-27. I believe that it messes me up completely. I’m still one of the lucky ones. And yes we have enough money to more than provide my son with more than what he needs.

My friend is trying to get pregnant now at 45. She has always wanted kids but only got married last year. She never wanted to be a single parent so wasn't willing to try before marriage.

Tell your friend to use donor egg. She'll be pregnant next week!

My coworker had her first (and only) baby at 47 using donor egg. Go for it!
