I had my period until 56! And, joke on me from Mother Nature - I never gave birth! (Adoptive mom.) |
I know. I worked on an adoption study in graduate school, and between that and seeing multiple friends go through the process, anyone who uses the phrase "just adopt" needs to be slapped upside the head. There is no such thing as "just" adopting. |
| My grandmother had my mom at 40. My mom had me at 33 so the biggest downside I see is my grandmother was always relatively old. I don’t know if my mom was an “oops” - my grandmother always said she wanted 6 kids and only had four. My grandmother was a very involved, loving mom and lived to 97. |
|
Wait OP
What if all those “old women” with kids you see in your neighborhood actually adopted them .... Mind blown |
| Every time i see this thread at the top of the list i will reply and remind everyone its a dead issue. OP is ignorant. Ignore her and mom on. |
| 40 is not too old to have a baby but it is selfish. |
My great - grandma had my grandma at 42...100 years ago! My friend has unintentional twins at 45. 40 is not too old |
It is selfish to get pregnant? Newsflash: people have sex and get pregnant. Half of pregnancies are unplanned even with birth control being widely available. |
Having babies is inherently selfish, no more so at 41 than 21. |
|
Because women in their 40s can get pregnant and have healthy babies. The average age of menopause is 51 BTW, so the majority of 40 year olds are not menopausal.
I think you would benefit from reading a book on human biology or talking to your mom. It’s sad how little some women know about their own bodies. |
