Why have a baby when your 40?

I love 40 year old moms because usually:
1) mom is educated
2) mom has stable income - not jacking up my taxes
3) mom is married - kid gets to have a dad
4) pregnancy was planned and wanted

I had my first at 37 and my second at 41. Didn't marry until I was 32, and then infertility sucked. And before you tell me the infertility was due to age...it wasn't. I have PCOS, so, no matter what my age was, we would have had trouble conceiving.
Yes, we would have liked to have been a bit younger. But you play the cards you are dealt.
My grandmothers were 40 and 42 when their last children were born. My mom has several aunts who had children into their 40s. 2 of my great-grandmothers had children in their 40s. This isn't new, OP.

I have 4 kids. First at 28, second at 32, third at 36 and 4th and 40. I started early by DCUM standards but still had a baby in my 40s. I had that last baby because I wanted to and I was able to financially. My grandmother had 13 kids. She had her first at 19 and last at 43. My eldest aunt had her baby 6 months after my grandmother gave birth to her youngest. Giving birth in your 40s was actually very common before family planning and has been common throughout human history. Not sure why you would think of it as disgusting.

I don't understand what is so gross? haha Some people have not met someone to have a baby with until later? Or there were other infertility issues. So that means they cant have kids? I had all of that at my age 24 pregnancy.
