I was thinking that maybe last night's story on how Kevin didn't want kids and is starting a new relationship was a set up for Sophie coming back pregnant.

I wondered that too since Amanda Breckenridge was pregnant in real life when they began to film this season.

Sophie’s going to pop up pregnant soon, I bet.

people tired of deja being bitter and ungrateful. yikes! she has every right to be. a child that age who has suffered as much trauma as she has. wow! i think she is a fantastic young actress and i've seen people who have gone thru similar things in life as her act out far worse but still deserve a chance. multiple even. she's a child.

Heartbreaking that Randall doesn't go to Howard. And Rebecca just watching her kids self-destruct...hard to watch.

Why do they write Kate as the worst? What she said about being the only one to pass a piece of Jack down was a knife to Randall’s heart. Jean the only one the the Big Three with Jack’s heart.

She explained she wanted to pass biological traits, she wanted the baby to look like Toby and like her dad. There is nothing wrong with this viewpoint. I feel bad for Kate, she was right about not being able to catch a break.

You’re thinking of her as a real person, while people are discussing her as a fictional character. One can be unenthused about her storyline without having any less compassion for a real girl in her circumstances.

For me, This is Us is like a warm, emotional bath that uplifts me even with painful storylines. Deja’s arc, so far, is just so grim. These days, I don’t have a lot of bandwidth for that.

Are we sure Randall doesn't still end up at Howard? I think he does.

Alcoholism, obesity, infertility, and depression aren’t grim?

I kept thinking that they call him back and let him defer.

They are, but the characters’ lives involve more than just those challenges. Jack was an alcoholic, but there are so many wonderful parts of Jack’s story as well. Deja doesn’t even have the occasional funny quip.

Sterling K. Brown just rips me to pieces, almost every damned episode!

It was excruciating to see Randall give up HU. I really felt for Rebecca also. It’s so painful to know you need to step up and want to do so, and still struggle with it.

I still can’t stand Toby. He’s just so annoying.

agree on the Toby hate. I really can't stand Kate either. Their whole relationship is so annoying and I find her size to be incredibly distracting.

Me too. Why not lose weight before IVF? That really pisses me off. And they act like a perfect couple totally in love, yet he can’t tell his wife about being off his meds? BS. What a messed up relationship

Her size is most definitrly distracting, sometimes cringeworthy. Doesn't help that Mandy Moore and Beth are tiny, heck I would look like an ox standing next to them, but Kate is a candidate for my 600 lb life. As for Toby if my husband, especially someone who is fairly new to the family, snapped at my mother like Toby did there would be a huge problem!
Rebecca is a mother of a few decades, went through a tough pregnancy herself and knew a little about IVF. Her already at risk child was choosing to make another dangerous health choice. She wasn't wrong to voice her concerns. Kate and Toby did not like the message or the timing of it because they don't want to face reality and would rather spend thousands of dollars to further compromise their health.

She may not be wrong, but she is incredibly shortsighted. There is more to her father than just his DNA. There are his morals, temperament, personality, etc. That she believes his DNA is what counts and she is the only one who can pass it on is selfish and completely dismisses Randall and Kevin who can have children over the next 30 years.

I thought Kate actress was getting her stomach banded or whatever. Why isn’t she getting smaller???

I liked Toby's outburst! Am I the only one? I loved his speech either the first or second season where he said he'll always be on Team Kate. This was an example of it, and he wasn't wrong - it's between him and his wife.

I agree that the actress's size is totally distracting. I get that she's not put on this earth to please anyone but herself, but wow, it's hard to see someone that obese. I would be hard to see anyone that obese, actress or otherwise.

Does the actress who plays Kate have health problems? How can you not at that weight?
