The United States Feels Like a Sad, Empty, Dark Place

I disagree. It is right-leaning folks that cling to their guns because they are terrified. And they cling to God/religion because the world is so scary. And they are preppers because they are terrified of government, war, the apocalypse, whatever.
We don’t “cling” to our guns in fear —neither do Democrats, by the way, but bear them proudly and with purpose which is our right under the U.S. Constitution, a document which is the highest law of the land.

The U.N. and Euro-weenie nations may not like it. Too bad!

We do not “cling” to our religion of Christianity from fear, any more than a Buddhist, Hindu, or Muslim. It is our right to practice our religion or have no religion at all.

The motto of the Boy Scouts is “be prepared”. A wise person makes provision for the future such as savings for home or car repairs, loss of power, snow storms, and so forth.

The majority of Americans on both the right and left love their country and support the government.

Certainly there are disagreements but are resolved peacefully by abiding by the rule of law.

Most of the wackos are in the Democratic party (who refuse to define the word woman) which is why they lost the presidency, House, and Senate.

A political party that does not respect America’s borders does not respect America. The Democratic party is the political party that wants to take away guns not because they care about children (their pro-abortion stance proves this) but because they are cowards and fear citizens will blast them out of office by force when they try to become the next Hitler or Stalin, both of whom were Leftist socialists, one National, one Globalist.

It cracks me up that the Don’t Thread on Me folks are aligned with the authoritarian peeps. All that bravado and now you just lying down while they take it all away from you. Dumb. You all are just dumb.

MAGA during Biden: Don’t tread on me!
MAGA during Trump: Don’t tread on me too lightly Daddy!

You confuse leftists with liberals.

This is all they know. They think they’re smart but completely lack any critical thinking skills, are very influenced by groupthink and trends. They’re so unbelievably superficial and shallow. We preach acceptance and diversity yet everyone must fit into some arbitrary narrow little box in order to feel a sense of belonging.

Agree.

I am firing people left and right for gross incompetence.

They can’t write, focus, spell, punctuate, reason, think, do math, pay attention, speak in complete sentences yet are college and high school Grads.

The amount of “work” we have to check, review and redo has never been higher. Very sad state of education and unprepared work force.

They’re toast. Go back and take remedial high school classes at a community college, pay attention and put the damn phones and Chromebooks away. Start over on your education and basic skills. Many don’t have any.

No, we DON’T all feel this way.

I’m really optimistic for the future, because we have a president who isn’t afraid to address the problems that have been building for decades, in particular, millions of people who are here illegally and shouldn’t be.

I do not think most of these illegals immigrants are bad people - BUT - they shouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t be allowed to just show up in Mexico or Guatemala, get a job, use govt resources and schools for citizens, and stay there indefinitely. I’d get kicked out. Same thing should apply here.

Likewise, I’m happy we’re finally addressing trade imbalances and unfair tariff practices by other countries while the US doesn’t reciprocate equal tariffs. Personally, I think tariffs should look like a mirror, where we base our own tariffs on goods from other countries at the same exact rate they set for US made goods.

Iran should never have a nuclear weapon and we’re finally putting teeth into that, rather than bribing them with billions of dollars that they then use to fund the exact nuclear program they accepted bribes to not pursue.

So no, drama llamas, not everyone shares your ridiculous dystopian outlook.

I'd feel happy for you, except you have a President who lies to you and keeps a information that would go against the story he is telling you under cover

He's a deeply stupid man but he hates what you hate so you are okay with him lying to you. And let's admit, you never liked the U.S.anyway.

Too much freedom.

Don't worry, papa Trump will hook you up to the matrix where you can live out your 1950s fantasies.

You know what's funny?
The bolded summarizes the US under Biden.
He and his administration (and the Congress) lied to us about really consequential stuff. They kept so much undercover and it is finally starting to be made public now. Not only the fact that Biden was not cognitively sharp enough to be president, but about other things like China and Iran interfering in the 2020 election (yeah, Wray lied), the whole Hunter Biden saga, the border is secure, and a plethora of other issues.

We knew Biden has been a liar his entire life. The media worked hard to bury his past in order to ensure his victory.

Get back to us when there are a documented 30,000+ lies told by Biden versus those told by Trump. And those were just from Trump‘s first term!

Exhibit One.

Some costs related to travel — like lodging, car rentals and airline fares — are down compared to a year ago. And prices for some goods have fallen as well, including for gas, smartphones and other electronics.
In April, prices were lower year-over-year for nearly a third of the goods and services categories tracked by the consumer price index.

I just bought pens that were $7 more than they were 3 years ago. I checked the price six years ago, to compare (it seems like I need pens every 3 years), and:

2025: $19
2022: $12
2019: $10

I know this is a small purchase, but I definitely don’t feel like anything is cheaper.

beside the point. The fact is America isn't what it used to be. And we can be sad about that.

Than when it used to be when exactly and for whom?

Right, unfortunately there seemed to be many white men who are angry that they’re not ladled to success anymore. They’re mad they have to work hard like everyone else now. This is why Trump won to punish minorities and women on their behalf.

I've never once clinged to a gun. Nor have I seen anyone walking around, forlorn, clinging a gun. Mostly they are stored safely or being used for sport.

Yes we realize that basic concepts are completely lost on your small mind. Just let the grownups talk if all of these fancy words are above your head.

That is simplistic and missing the point. AA and Hispanic Trump voter percentages increased in a major way that belies your argument about white men. This is all about cruelty and selfishness vs empathy and community.

We don’t live in the 30s and 40s any longer. There are no Marxists any more. There might be some academics who construct arguments based on Marxist theory but in life they’re capitalists.
