The United States Feels Like a Sad, Empty, Dark Place

Anonymous
The economy, schools, colleges politics is getting more and more focused on meeting the needs of the wealthy. The rest of us just don’t matter as much accept for voting. But that has become much more tribal and driven by systems and politicians the wealthy control.

All time high? Good. I hope I get back the tens of thousands of dollars that disappeared from my retirement account when Trump first announced his stupid tariffs.

You did plus the USA is getting hundreds of billions from China and Europe plus trillions in investment and restoring critical manufacturing

I'm an upper middle class white female, and yes, my personal reality has "actually changed."

First, I lost my job, due to The Felon's budget cuts.

Next, my best friend who loves politics is profoundly depressed due to the antics of The Felon and his fascist supporters.

Third, my husband, who is from another country, is now talking about returning to that country.

Fourth, I got another job, where everyone is on edge because of The Felon's actions. No one knows what's coming.

Fifth, things are getting more expensive every day. I can't afford casual evenings out because restaurant prices have skyrocketed, but my salary has not.

That's it for the moment. There's more, but it's too depressing to talk about. Suffice to say, yes, the world here grows darker daily.

beside the point. The fact is America isn't what it used to be. And we can be sad about that.

I don't want to leave. It's MY country. YOU LEAVE!!!

Go watch Squid Games season 3 - that will make you feel better about America.

No it won't because that's where YOUR America is headed, thanks to the Federalist Society and you idiots who voted for the felonious Diaper POTUS.

There is no pleasure living in the US due to politics, standards of living, how expenses it is, the lack of real freedoms, half of the country engulfed by the maga cult even when facts stare them in the face, a broken and cruel SCOTUS who insists on unlimited executive power that has sealed our fates as a country, AI taking over, and tech bros being clearly in charge, our way of life being dismantled, education on its knees…there is no amount of praying that will ever see us through, it’s over for all of us. It’s too late.

Never been better.

The bot posts are boring. Give it a rest. Every single thing you post sounds identical. Where are you? Texas, I'll bet.

And you guys didn’t complain at all, right?

There weren’t daily meltdowns like we have again this time. It’s comical to watch. And enlightening the level of privilege on display thinking the US is coming to an end and it’s the end of days.

It's absolutely pathetic and comedy. I come on DCUM just to chuckle at the latest unhinged blogpost and threads.

I mean it’s not just DCUM. It’s other social media like Reddit, etc. And many of the media in the US. And historians and academics. Well, actually lots of the newspapers and scholars abroad are also sounding the alarms. And even lots of former Republicans. Or as you call anyone who dares disagree with Trump, RINOs. Bc blacklisting people within the party who disagree is a totally normal thing. Come to think of it…most people outside of MAGA are pretty concerned right now. But you are right PP; everyone else=crazy alarmist and unhinged. We must all be delusional. Except MAGA. You guys see the “truth.” Makes total sense. Silly us. I guess when you are not on Fox News or Newsmax, you are just chuckling along.

Well then leave!

Yes, that's what the Dumpsters want. They want the intellectuals, the journalists, the people who believe in peace, equality, freedom to LEAVE our magnificent country to THEM.

Ya know what? We won't leave. We will drive YOU out. You're gonna leave because we are not going to stop fighting you until we win and take back our wonderful country from the clutches of the tech bros and bots and dystopian fantasists who are in control of the federal government.

You and your ilk must leave because you are ruining our country.

Can't you get a job that's not dependent on taking tax money from the public or the future generations being buried in debt.

No, new poster, but as I told my Dh, an immigrant, I do not want to be the Nazi neighbor in history. We are slowly being put in that position with these taking of people Willy Billy off the streets and more to happen daily. Make noise, stand up, while we still can say something.

Remember that a huge portion of Americans supported Nazism, and a huge number still do today. Genocide is a plus for them.

Certainly there are disagreements but are resolved peacefully by abiding by the rule of law.

Most of the wackos are in the Democratic party (who refuse to define the word woman) which is why they lost the presidency, House, and Senate.

The Democratic party is the political party that wants to take away guns not because they care about children (their pro-abortion stance proves this) but because they are cowards and fear citizens will blast them out of office by force when they try to become the next Hitler or Stalin, both of whom were Leftist socialists, one National, one Globalist.

Wow, this is rich. Covid brain?

Where's your well regulated militia now that Trump has overthrown the constitution and is sending brownshirt army to invade US cities?
