I disagree. It is right-leaning folks that cling to their guns because they are terrified. And they cling to God/religion because the world is so scary. And they are preppers because they are terrified of government, war, the apocalypse, whatever. [/quote]

I've never once clinged to a gun. Nor have I seen anyone walking around, forlorn, clinging a gun. Mostly they are stored safely or being used for sport. [/quote]
