Where are Traditional Conservatives?

Other than opposing Trump, what is your agenda for the country?

Taxing the wealthy and corporations to better fund programs that help working class/middle class Americans.

Overturning Citizens United.

Streamlined immigration system that offers more protection and dignity than sneaking across the border.

Stronger supports for young families (national paid parental leave, childcare subsidies and/or increasing the dependent FSA amount, more federal investment in public schools, increasing child tax credits, etc.)

Not having a sexual predator in the White House.

Fixing student loans so that people don’t pay more interest than the principal.

Expanded first time homebuyer tax credits/low interest loans.

Gun reform (e.g. taxes and limitations on ammo, strict liability for parents who don’t lock up their guns, waiting periods and background checks across all states).

Expanded access to mental health treatment including inpatient centers and drug rehabilitation.

Strong relationships with national allies and distancing from ties to Russia. Stop trying to buy Greenland.

And also I do agree with some conservative values. I’d love to see stricter enforcement of criminal laws, especially very harsh consequences for gun crimes and DUI. I’m also 100% for anything that will help limit fentanyl coming across our borders.

Let’s talk about your #1 priority, taxing the wealthy. If a family earns $1 million in ordinary income in a year, what do you think is the fair share they should pay in taxes?

See, that’s the problem with much of the right. They think $1 million a year is “wealthy”. They seem completely unaware of the amount of enormous , unimaginable wealth that exists in this country, so they don’t even register it as something we could tax.

And yet, every time the Democrats propose legislation they go all the way down to $500k and less. It's almost as if they try to lose elections.

US Debt Clock site lists $175 billion saved, and the deficit number is essentially flat.

The spending cuts will pale in comparison to the tax revenues lost when the billionaires' taxes are lowered as promised.

Unfortunately, tax rates are not being lowered. The current bills that supposedly cut 4.5 trillion in taxes, actual keeps the tax rates the same as now.
There will be no tax revenues lost.

The Lincoln Party literally campaigns for democrats. You can pretend this is something different. But its just a campaign gimmick.

The border is just as secure today as it was this time last year.
There have not been $175 billion saved, where on earth did you get that tripe?

US debt clock website. This appears to be more than what DOGE has on its own website.

Border is obviously more secure. Inflow has dropped by millions.

Amen. My HHI is over $1M and they make no distinction between me and Elon Musk.

And let’s stop pretending it was demented Biden directing the country; Obama ran things from behind the curtain.

You cheered on the invasion of our country, demonized our police, and rammed through a truly weird transgender agenda in our public schools, which even my gay friends find really weird.

BTW - I do agree with you progressives in favor war in Ukraine until victory; I want to see Putin’s evil-empire 2.0 completely collapse because I have family in Europe, and I know there will never be peace or real security in Europe until the Putin / puppet Medvedev regime collapses. Putin can’t be trusted.

And I meant to add: you created a multi-billion dollar DEI or DEIA “industry.” The fact is:

DEI = racism. I cannot and will not support racism; will you?

DEI means I have an equal chance at landing the same job for the same pay as my male counterparts.

Do you trust Bloomberg news?

- 94% of jobs recently given EXCLUSIVELY to BIPOC Americans.

Does 94% given to ONE group sound like there was (as you put it) an “equal chance” in hiring? Read it yourself:

https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2023-black-lives-matter-equal-opportunity-corporate-diversity/#:~:text=While%20the%20biggest%20shifts%20in,went%20to%20workers%20of%20color.

Yeah, so why don’t you provider the full detail? Most of these jobs for BIPOC hires were lower paying, entry level. The managerial hires were still a majority white. Moreover, white people still dominate higher paying / executive jobs.

Don’t worry, white people still have the advantage.

Not to mention that, when you are acknowledging and trying to recitfy a past injustice (not hiring people of color), well, yes the new hires are obviously going to be people of color. That was the point.

Fight racism with more racism.

And people wonder why young white males took a hard right.

I guess they should just "be cool" about being punished for stuff that happened before they were born. That's not realistic.

Like Black people and other minorities were supposed to just "be cool" with redlining, and women were supposed to just "be cool" with not being able to apply for a credit card in their own names, and people with ethnic sounding names were supposed to just "be cool" with realizing that if they just anglicize their names they'd finally land that job interview, and anyone other than white men were supposed to just "be cool" with the good old boy networks and golf course networking because no one else was allowed membership to the club - both literally and figuratively. GMAFB.

Sorry not sorry that when young white males finally had to actually compete and earn their place, they sometimes came up short. But yeah, when the shoe's on the other foot, doesn't feel so good does it? And no, this was never about two wrongs making a right. One is wrong, the other levels the playing field.

Then what are you complaining about? You got what you wanted. You felt, and still seem to feel, that it was more important to yell at and punish people for how bad their grandparents and great-grandparents were than to preserve democracy and win the election.

I never yelled at or punished anyone. I certainly didn't get what I wanted. Not sure what the hell you are talking about. Conservative AND MAGA simply can't handle a simple explanation about what DEI actually is, and not what it is in their tiny little pea brains.

Again, that a bunch of traditional republicans are campaigning for democrats shows how far off the cliff MAGA has taken the GOP. This isn't the "win" you think it is.

To 99% of americans, there is no distinction between you an Elon Musk. Do you know how much a million/yr of income would be to the average blue collar worker?

Okay? This just means that their message is appealing to you. The fact remains that their message is targeted at you and not at MAGA. You like LP and you like the "MAGA is off the rails!" narrative. Can you see why that wouldn't be appealing to Republicans?

According to you or a pp, as a MAGA, I'm the one that can't tell a difference between 1M and Elon levels of wealth. But yes, I do know how much it would be, I grew up hungry and in poverty. Is there anything else you want to lecture me about?

This thread is about "traditional conservatives" - Lincoln Party are, in fact, traditional conservatives. No one but Trump is trying to appeal to MAGAs....the are off the charts the worst of our country.

They were republicans until your party elected Trump round 1, then they defected. As they should have. The rest of you kept drinking the Kool aide and signed up for more lies and raping of the federal govt and tax dollars.

I think we are in violent agreement. LP is the only entity holding themselves out as traditional conservatives but they are not trying to appeal to the republican base. They are appealing to democrats who fund them. They come to their campaign stops so they can say "MAGA bad."
