Why do you need to “avoid” the issue of its so small? Let people live their lives. Stop obsessing over it and you’ll stop noticing it.

I don't look at trans people any differently than anyone else. What is the big deal? All you’re being asked to do is not discriminate or bully them. Is that really too much to ask?

You’re not listening. It’s not a small issue. It’s pervasive.

It's really not. Not even close to the level of abuse by team docs or coaches. Or even parents beating on their kids and the refs when they're out on the field. Have you even been to watch girls high school sports??

Wow. You have lost all touch with everything.

Answer the question. Do you watch girls high school sports? You would have to watch years of them to ever catch a glimpse of a trans player out there on the girls team. And probably a few more years to catch a glimpse of a trans player on the girls team without any talent at all.

Seriously quit your whining and spend your time on something that's a real problem.

Such as why Republicans now control the House, Senate, and Presidency (and -- to be honest -- SCOTUS), because you refuse to acknowledge that the Democrats lost our country based on their pandering to small groups of people -- many of whom didn't even bother to vote for them after all the pandering.

I freaking hated it but it was the single most effective piece of messaging in his entire campaign (yes i know this for a fact) not bc of trans hatred but bc does not affect most people.
but the repubs are a******s about it bc who cares if they play sports, use your bathroom.

They had to find another wedge issue since they accidentally got rid of the last one. Sadly, it’s worked.

Men lost us this election if we are going by the numbers. And yet, here the rest of us are pitting ourselves against eachother again.

We should be asking what’s wrong with men but we won’t. Too hard to confront.

Continue to think that way...sure...whatever floats your boat. Your boat sank and will stay at the bottom of the ocean for a long time.

Theater kids are generally at the high school level and are not competing for college athletic scholarships. It is when men get to the college level and realize that they can't compete with other men that the issue occurs.

This whole post is way off the mark. Democrats lost the election for "multiple reasons" -- that being said, one of the reasons is this:

A culmination of cancel culture, extremist DEI and woke culture, pronoun nonsense, social constructs not based on science.

I am disgusted by all the cancel culture, especially in regards to JK Rowling and I actually am a bigger fan of hers simply because she continues to stand her ground. Good for her! Recent Article below - I'm so proud of her.
https://www.newsweek.com/jk-rowling-politics-...omens-rights-1983654

They lost the election because people don't like this - and while too scared to voice it for fear of career damage and society cancelling - they were not scared to vote [or not vote or vote third party] accordingly and that's a big reason Trump won.

I recently went to an indie bookstore to buy the latest JK Rowling (writing as Robert Galbraith) book and was snootily told "we don't agree with her and do not carry her books." I said nothing but walked out of the store never to return. This is a woman-owned business and I was one of its first customers and bought hundreds of books from them. During the pandemic, I made cash donations so that they could pay their rent. I felt sick rather than angry that a woman I admired was so narrow minded.

Thank you for sharing and proving my point. This is one (of many) reasons Harris lost. The DNC has tied itself to this extremist cancel culture mindset. Then they turn around and blame this on "low info voters" and continue to deny deny deny. I regret voting for Harris because I am now seeing just how obtuse and "low info" the Democratic party truly is.

But you’re ok with a baker not selling a wedding cake to a gay couple? What can’t a bookstore owner decide which books she wants to seek and which authors she wants to support?

Dp. I’ve been to a handful of high school sporting events in my life and I’ve seen a trans player on a girls team.

I don’t know that many people, but I know multiple people with trans kids.

I go to sign my kid up for a pre-college event, and I’m offered 13 genders to choose from for him on the form. I wish I were exaggerating.

It’s not a small issue. It’s pervasive.

Well, I've probably watched thousands of hours of girls high school sports. It is not pervasive. I promise you.

Go to the college and post college level where money is involved and get back to us.

The many immigrants I know cared only about the economy. Most frequently heard on the job sites: "Trump will get more work for us." Immigrants simply want to work and make money. They consider trans and other Democratic social issues something Americans care about. They just want to make money.

I'm the PP from Chicago. Our local elementary school is about 1/3 Latino. When the music teacher decided to transition and the school sent home a gushing announcement praising their bravery do you think the Latino parents just ignored it? There was an exodus from our school.

You and the store owner are both getting played by Trump/MAGA. Step back and take a look at what’s going on behind that topic and look at the consolidation of power that is happening.

They voted against the perception that Dems prioritize fringe issues and criticize/cancel anyone who doesn’t agree.

They voted against Democrats and the handouts given to newly arrived immigrants.

They voted against all sorts of things that Dems should have acknowledged and shifted messaging on.

We suck at messaging.

My two cents: the racial reckoning that needed to happen post-George Floyd went waaaaay too far, centering everything in racism. The end result was a new kind of cancel culture that essentially divided us instead of uniting us. And here we are: weeks away from another Trump administration.

John Oliver is just a comedian who gets paid to entertain. He’s not a brilliant political strategist. Bill Maher has been saying what Dem campaign managers and voters need to wrap their head around.

Well at least Floyd contributed to the decrease in fentanyl deaths.

Not a young woman's athletic scholarship depends on pitching on the softball team or the university allowing a trans man to take your place and scholarship because they can't compete with non-trans men.

Kamala voter and I agree—the fact that this rarely happens is totally irrelevant to a low info voter. They don’t like it, people have to stop defending it and not be afraid to say that it’s wrong.

If it happens a single time, it’s happened too many times.

Biological males should not play sports on any level with women. They are not women, women are women. It’s not hurting their feelings, it’s telling the truth.

None of you gave a shit about women and girls sports until it gave you a reason to have a grievance against transwomen.

The only people I know who bring up this topic are female athletes and parents of daughters.

Republican men were bringing it up constantly and I would expect that to continue even after Trump bans trans girls in girl’s sports because Republicans would melt away if they didn’t have something to be angry about. People still talk about Lia Thomas and she hasn’t swam in 2.5 years. Republicans talk more about trans people than trans people do.

Then it's good that Democrats are finally talking about trans men. Trans men do not spark joy in the electorate despite Kamala's beliefs.

this is also false. the dems actually did not run on progressive identity issues at ALL. find me one democratic ad that did. go on, i'll wait.

They didn't need to. They've show the public who they are for the last decade. You can't just "whoopsie I take it back" during an election year and think everyone will forget the exhausting, overbearing previous decade of identity politics. This is a dumb argument and people are not a dumb as you appear to think they are. They simply do not trust the Democrats to not quadruple down on the same madness after the election, when they've consistently shown who they are and what they prioritize. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that "running" is just about "ads".

Huh? The only power I see is the power of the pharma industry which makes boatloads of money off these permanent patients.

Doesn't matter if you campaign on identity issues when it's perceived that those issues are the true agenda of the Democratic party.

This. Dems did nothing to counter the perception.

Because the cancel culture has gone too far. I love that JK Rowling continues to stand her ground and say "f* off"...but she has the funds to be able to do so. Many do not and live in fear of being fired or cancelled for simply having an opinion or standing up for their rights.

Sure, the bookstore owner has the right not to carry an author's books, but it's why she chooses to do so. Because the bookstore owner was brainwashed into thinking that just because someone disagrees on allowing minors to use blockers she's automatically labeled anti-trans. That is why it is wrong.

Are you implicitly acknowledging that this new wave of progressivism is a religion and deserves constitutional protection as such?

watched plenty of college women's sports. It is not a thing.

It is for you so post away. But know that the tremendous majority of women playing sports in college are focused on the difficult balance of managing academics and playing college sports. The issue of trans athletes is not discussed among the athletes or the parents...ever. There are a hundred other topics more pressing.
