+1000 It's truly sad that in this modern day and age, these beautiful, smart and talented young women still feel like they need to "be chosen" to feel worthy. Also, what really struck me was the fear and defensiveness when the rumor was out that HBO was filming a documentary- what do you feel like you need to hide?? Why are they so afraid of being exposed?? I guess they know themselves how truly disgusting and debasing Greek culture really is at its core. |

| So why were girls talking to the documentarian at all if their sororities are supposed to be so secretive and hush-hush? I wonder if they were kicked out because of it. Actually, I really don't care. There is zero about any of these girls that is interesting in any way. |

I haven’t watched it, but my kid goes to Bama and said the sororities quickly figured out what was going on and access was quickly denied to those who were attempting to infiltrate, etc. It was all over the parents Facebook groups which I saw in real time. My takeaway is whatever made it into the documentary wasn’t that much since they had no access. FTR, I have a son who participated in the freshman rush preliminary activities (free parties, open house type events, etc.). He received bids but opted not to proceed (he realized the hazing and ridiculous schedules, errands, etc. wouldn’t be fun). Having said that, he attended tons of sorority social events (dated a lot of sorority girls) and is good friends with girls in the “best” sororities (whatever that means). He said their rush is over the top in terms of scheduled activities but the mean girl stuff is exaggerated. Most girls get bids. It’s a huge money maker. |

+1 They have like a bajillion Greek houses. It's not an elite thing at all from the point of view of people who aren't into Greek life. Anyone who wants to get into a house and has some level of social awareness and a realistic view of their own hotness can get into some house. |

Sorority rankings is made by frats. Whichever houses are deemed to have the hottest members are the ones that get the label of top house. The stuff about GPAs and community service is a lie. |
