I agree on many points. Just hired a tutor for the first time. Daughter's math teacher is in so far over her head. Isn't teaching. Has missed *EASILY!* 20 days of school, including two consecutive weeks, this year due to her illness and family illnesses. She's not going to get through the material this year. It was very, very challenging to find a good tutor and I hesitated to do it because my child was earning A-/B+ on what was being taught. I felt like it was "cheating." Low and behold, turns out half the class is working with this same tutor, and has been for almost two whole years. I didn't realize proactive tutoring was a thing, but I guess it is! |
