So the 911 call was made by one of the roommates..

Isn't it really weird that this is...unsolved?

I'm sure they know what they're doing. Just because they aren't announcing things to the public doesn't mean they don't have the suspect(s) in their sites and are collecting enough evidence to arrest them.

And according to the last link, the victim bodies were found on the second and third floors of the house.

So the speculation that the 2 roommates that survived were sleeping on the third floor so didn’t hear is out.

This also means that this wasn’t a random murder. Why would someone target the 4 victims and leave the other 2 alive? Especially if they were on the same floor? Roommates are somehow involved. It doesn’t make sense otherwise.

Reddit has been saying that the 2 roommates who lived were on the first floor (almost like a basement - I believe the house is on a hill) and the killer likely entered on the second floor where the sliding glass door is. So those who were murdered were on 2nd and 3rd floor and those who lived were on bottom floor. If suspect entered 2nd floor sliding door they may not have known about the bottom floor. Per Reddit.

I don’t believe so and neither does the police. Please leave the roommate alone they were tragic victims. I don’t know how you can go on from that. My daughter who is a college student not at Idaho lived in a college apartment over the summer. Her room had security equivalent of a separate dorm room. I believe they slept through it.

No. It just happened. Give the detectives some time to work it. This isn’t Law & Order

I think this is why people don’t think they know what they’re doing.

It seems perfectly plausible that the roommates slept through it if they were in another space and weren’t targeted. I slept through all sorts of noise in college. We don’t know what it sounded like.

No, the 911 call was made on roommates phone but not by roommate. Clearly person that came over in morning but was that random or did girls ask individual to come over?

A couple new things have emerged since last night:

Kaylee Goncalves’ family did an interview saying the crime scene was sloppy and that they had tons of evidence to collect and process. They have been calling in extra help but it’s going to take time to process all of it.

They said the 911 call came from the roommates phone but have not named anyone, therefore we do not know if it was the roommate or someone else, and they aren’t revealing that info now.

The boyfriend Kaylee just took a break from is being investigated but her family stands “2000%” behind him and believes he has nothing to do with it. That said, I have not heard if he has an alibi and why he hasn’t definitively been ruled out by now.

Kaylee (according to her parents) was hyper aware of her surroundings, was a websleuth herself, and was always calling people or recording on her phone if she thought someone shady was around her. She apparently locked her doors and her car doors.

No known enemies to any of them.

Police are requesting video footage from certain geographic areas.

Kaylee’s parents are sure digital evidence is what will crack the case.

The victims were on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the house - not all were in their beds but they aren’t saying who was where.

Press conference today at 3pm.

I am guessing the ex is cleared soon. My guess is he was being called a million times to come over and her friend also called to ask for her. Haven’t many of us done the same thing when we are out and being silly. It looked like they were having a fun college night before all this happened. I think the roommates slept through everything as college kids do. This whole thing sounds like a serial killer. No way would I send my kid back to college until they figure this out. The police will crack this and maybe have already. There will be video this is a college town. With the police/fbi etc this will be solved.

From their phone does not necessarily mean from them.

I had read in the early days (so not sure of accuracy) that the call was made by someone who had come over to go out with them.

It may be so innocent as someone assuming the killer knew them, because of the nature of the killings.

Later, they were probably cautioned to not publicize assumptions that are not yet proven...so they backed down.

They are not exactly the FBI, and this type of case of traumatizing for them (also, it is well outside their normal responsibilities).
