4 University of Idaho students found dead in home outside campus in what police are calling a homicide

Instead of discussing rankings, parents should be discussing safety.

The fact that guns are so readily available here and mental illness is rampant in this country - this is my biggest fear.

Holy hell. That is just sad

I'm wondering if the may have overdose. The description of the surviving victim would be strange for a shooting. They are described as "unconscious" rather than injured. Whatever happened, those poor families. Just horrible.

Sounds like a murder(s)/suicide? No one in custody but also no alert for the killer.

While I agree some schools are in more dangerous areas than others, we unfortunately live in a world in the USA where it does NOT matter where you are. Shootings happen everywhere.

Agree that this article is weirdly phrased. Police are charging drug dealers with “homicide” if they sell fentanyl laced drugs to unsuspecting buyers and people overdose. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that’s what happened.

Agreed. The police are also calling it "suspected homicide". If the victims had been stabbed/shot/beaten I feel like they would have said that by now.

Any idea why the cause of death still isn’t being released?

NY times is quoting law enforcement calling it a "crime of passion" but offering no additional details.

“Senseless act of violence”doesn’t sound like drugs.

Did you read the article?

"The slain students were also involved on campus,"

What is it about people here that they would rather say "I wonder if". READ.

Victims are all sorority members + one boyfriend (frat member) of one of the girls. They all have public IG accounts, typical Gen Z sorority content.

Ugh, this sounds like a domestic violence type of incident.

The article has been updated since that link was first posted and did not include that information this morning, but enjoy feeling superior.

I am really confused by this. “Crime of passion” but no murder suicide. “Act of violence” but no current threat. No suspect in custody. Why is there delay in releasing more information?
