The only plausible explanation that doesn’t make the police look terrible is that they have a person in custody that they believe is killer, who knows the victims but are not yet ready to label as suspect and have not charged. Otherwise the information and authorities in charge seem incompetent. I believe it was the ME that was frustrated that the narrative made it sound like the make may have been the killer when it clearly was not the case that she released a statement to clarify all those dead are victims. Very unusual for ME to provide when police had not made statement.

At least big city police are direct: no one will tell us who did it so we can't solve this crime, but the murderer is probably wandering around the neighborhood now so good luck not getting murdered. [usual curses and occasional slur redacted]

I saw a report stating the scene was extremely bloody. Thinking about it, it takes TIME to stab 4 people to death. And no one could scream to the others? Very odd.

I don't see how one person stabbed and killed four adults. Unless they were asleep/passed out at the time.

It's the mayor who seems to be incompetent. The NYT quotes him saying it was a "crime of passion." Then in an interview he said that that was just one possible scenario and it could have been a burglary, but nothing was missing. Then the police got in touch with him apparently and he said He hadn't actually been told nothing was missing. It's bizarre but he seems to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. Maybe I'm wrong...but he made these statements and then walked them back. He should just shut up.

It seems to be his comment that lead many to leap to the baseless accusation it was a murder-suicide and blame the young man. ME seems to have made her statement specifically to counteract that. It may also explain that, at least initially, he was the only victim without a gofundme page.

Fox has a photo from the back of the house. There is one photo of blood which has dripped down the windowsill and the outside wall from one window, which is described as a first floor bedroom.

Reporrs say girlfriend and boyfriend found dead in same room.

Neighbors say the group had a dog and nobody has seen it. However, the other 2 roommates survived--don't seem to h ave been there at the time-- so to me it seems possible that one took the dog.

Food truck video is scary. Guy seems to be trying to hide himself from the camera intentionally and definitely seems to be following the girls.It doesn't look like either girl is acting odd--don't appear to be intoxicated.

U of I put out a bulletin in mid-Sept about a white male on bike confronting a group of students and threatening them with a knife.

Basis for claim there is no threat to anyone else seems completely bogus to me.

She may be impaired but by no means incapacitated. She speaks clearly to food truck operator and although swaying does not need any help. The guy in hoodie is clearly following them without wanting to get too close. Given the events obviously suspicious but still a stretch to call him suspect. He probably wanted to participate in whatever the next events of the evening were. The mother said that after the food truck the girls took Uber home. I sincerely hope the COPS have suspect or they are going to look awful with the information they sent out. The blood is seeping through the walls for goodness sake.

That boy has been identified as the boyfriend of one of those two girls. He isn’t believed to be a suspect.

I just heard the press conference today. Very odd that two uninsured roommates were home , yet the crimes were not called in until mid-day. And the 911 call described an unconscious person (not all of the murders).

One or both of them was likely involved, right??
