4 students in University of Idaho, killed in their home.

This case just gets more weird. The police have now said that it could be “crime of passion” or “property crime gone wrong” and the medical examiner not the police has said all 4 deceased were victims of murder-dispelling that the boyfriend murdered the girls and then committed suicide. Glad she said it but why are police not. So sad. I hope they catch the killer soon and provide family with some updates.

Even if there was a "person of interest" it would seem much less weird.

I don’t quite understand the secrecy in this case. Are neighbors supposed to be looking for a burglar, checking their security footage from that night etc? Or is the murderer one of the four dead people? It’s all so hush hush.

Maybe it's just that this happened in a town that hasn't had a murder in 5 years? On reddit, it seems like the local rumor is that they were stabbed, but who knows.

this whole story is weird.

I thought there was a 5th student was was found unconscious? Maybe that is the suspect?

okay, now they are saying it's likely a knife was used, if we can still trust press releases on twitter.

Really strange:

Officers responded to a call about an unconscious person shortly before noon Sunday and discovered the four bodies, the Moscow Police Department said in a news release.

“All I can say is the deaths are ruled a homicide at this point, and homicide and murder are synonymous,” Moscow Police Captain Anthony Dahlinger told the Idaho Statesman. “We certainly have a crime here, so we are looking for a suspect,” he said.

Dahlinger declined to characterize the deaths as violent, but Cathy Mabbutt, the Latah County coroner, told the New York Times the deaths were not a case of murder-suicide.

Mabbutt told the paper she plans to conduct autopsies Wednesday.

Ugh, this sounds like a domestic violence type of incident.

Strange he's a Freshmen and the girls were mostly Seniors and a Junior.

I would be SO. ANGRY at this point if I lived in this town, or had a student at University of Idaho. Bring in the State Police. Local law enforcement is clearly out of their depth.

Students are apparently fleeing the town and booking flights. No one wants their kids in town because no one trusts the local police.

The information being shared by kids on Reddit is just so weird. Neighbors heard nothing from the home where the bodies were found with blade wounds. Frankly, it sounds like a serial killer who drugged all the victims.

This is actually unbelievable that they are looking for suspect but were so quick to say that there was no threat. Crazy.

The fact that guns are so readily available here and mental illness is rampant in this country - this is my biggest fear.

While I agree some schools are in more dangerous areas than others, we unfortunately live in a world in the USA where it does NOT matter where you are. Shootings happen everywhere.

Yeah, like at both UVA and VT.

People like to blame conservative politics but we all know that school shootings happen everywhere.
