| How tragic, both paramours might be dead. |

Overall, I’m really liking the show, but a few things are bugging me:
I don’t think they gave enough time to develop Ser Criston’s guilt/resentment/anger/lust. That would have played out better over at least a few episodes. And I know what he did was shocking, but presumably all these knights and lords are used to violence, so I don’t get how he was just able to saunter out of the hall without being detained. A minor thing, but when they speak Valyrian, the subtitles are pretty small and in yellow rather than the usual white; Even with a pretty big tv, I had to rewind to get it all. The main thing for me: Sometimes the dialogue is stilted, especially when they’re providing information more for the audience than they would naturally speak to each other. Just one example— last episode when the small council was meeting, they were saying Viserys caused trouble by not marrying The Sea Snake’s daughter Laena, and then a few minutes later said that the Sea Snake was plotting to marry “his daughter Laena” to another lord. They all know who Laena is. They don’t need to define the relationship as the Sea Snake’s daughter again; that was just for us, because they’ve introduced a lot of characters quickly. It would be like me telling my kids “We are going over to visit your cousins Larlo and Larla; they are the children of my brother Big Larlo” —when the kids have known each other since birth. I just think the original GOT took its time to develop characters—this feels a lot more rushed, but maybe it just needs time to establish things. |

Is this only going to be one stand alone season?
It looks like they are switching out the actress that plays Rhaenyra starting next week. So there will be a sizable time jump. |
You seem super dense. If Weinstein asked for it in exchange for a role, then that’s not in and of itself rape. If he held her down, if he penetrated her without her consent, if she said no and he didn’t not stop, then we are at rape. But if Weinstein says to Jennifer Lawrence have sex with me and I will put you in my movie and she says ok and they do it, that’s not rape. Does it create a hostile work environment or sexual harassment, possibly. But not rape. Perhaps law a criminal law class. |
Because her dad lost his position after Rhaenyra denied it, making him look like a liar to get Aegon into power. |
Yes and the king is still alive, and Allicent is a new actress too. It could be a flash forward for one episode. I am excited by the jumps but also wondering if it's a limited series, like they said it will be 4 seasons and these are the years it will take place. These are big jumps. |
NP. I too don't understand why Allicent is so mad at Rhaenyra, and your explanation doesn't really make sense, because she DIDN'T have sex with Daemon, so Rhaenyra never lied to Allicent. She just didn't tell her "but oh yeah I banged my protector" -- understandable since that could get him killed. In the interviews with the show creators after the episode, they did confirm that Allicent was simply angry that Rhaenyra hadn't told her the whole WHOLE truth, but that seems silly to me in context. |

Agree, well done episode. |
R lied when she said her uncle never touched her. Flat out lie. On her mothers grave nonetheless. |
Good point. Daemon was leading the princess farther from head table And they immediately started talking about marrying each other. The uncle grabbed her by the face. Next thing is we hear clobbering on the dance floor. And who knows what Joffrey last chided after calling out Cole’s sins. |
I don't understand how this isn't about her dad. He told the king the truth, Rhaenyra lied and denied the truth, and because the king believed her, she told Otto to leave, assuming he was a liar. Alicent found out that R was lying via Sir Criston's confession. |

Lies of omission are lies.
So far the only person telling the truth is Criston Cole. |
Small eyes and always open mouth doesn’t help either. |
Remind me, how? Cristin didn't say anything about Daemon. |
I think it’s just that her father was barking up the right tree, and he was dismissed as a liar. |
