Agree with this. I do think the actress is talented, but I feel like the costume department needs to up its game. Allicent always looks on point and gorgeous with shiny hair, just enough makeup. Rhaenyra looks like a dishrag with limp hair, ill-fitting dresses, no makeup. Her dresses were killing me. They are also bad colors for her. We know they are capable of more - Emilia Clark usually looked fabulous in GoT.

I am so glad she and Damon didn't have sex. That was ick.

One thing I really liked - even though it was sad - about this episode is the theme that princesses and queens are really just women trapped in castles for the purpose of birthing heirs. Brings home how little agency Allicent has and why Rhaenyra isn't eager to marry.

Also, we knew the King was sick but gott damm, what does he have? That bedroom scene with Allicent was horrific with all the black splotches on his back, and then when he confronts Damon or The Hand (can't remember which) his hand is all black and shriveled.

I think either his thrown was poisoned (he pricked his finger on it in the first or second episode). Or it’s a crazy bacterial infection from that finger slice.

First thought he knew the Daemon trust rumors and saw them discussing a marriage for themselves and rushed in to stop that.
