US Jews often act like they care more about Israel than the US. That is not cool and they need to be called out on that.

It is more disturbing that this blank check to Israel is entrenched in our leadership.

A United States representative even wore his Israeli military uniform to congress. I can’t imagine any elected official doing this for any other country and not being called a traitor.

This is so creepy and wrong. In theory Brian Mast represents Americans in Florida. In reality, this picture tells a very different story.

This is the IDF uniform. The same IDF that is committing genocide in Gaza.

You think Israel will fall and cease being a nation without U.S. support so this is why this is your focus now. You do not care about U.S. domestic issue and so called time being taken away from those (oh but anyway U.S. can do more than one thing at a time, support allies and take care of domestic issues)

Nope. People are reacting to the fact that this guy supposedly represents the U.S. first and foremost, but he’s parading around in another country’s uniform.

You don’t get how our government works then. His constituents elected him, not you.

He’s voting in issues that impact others outside of his constituency. You don’t understand how representative government works.

Also, if his constituents fully support this, I wonder where their first loyalties are.

I understand it really well actually. His constituents may decide they don’t like it. But you, whining here about what you demand if individual congressmen, is pretty funny. I doubt you even live and vote here.

I doubt he ran for office on a platform or pledging allegiance to foreign militaries so I’m betting his constituents did not expect this!

DP. Yeah, how dare PP criticize a politician!? What is this? America or something??!?!

Look, you’re not even defending this idiot in a foreign uniform. You’re just telling people to mind their own business or something. Whatever, dude.

How would you feel about a Muslim-American in Congress wearing the military uniform of his ancestral country? Would the same standards apply? I highly doubt it.

Time will tell if his constituents punish him for this bizarre behavior. In the meantime, let the criticism flow freely.

Nope wouldn't like it but oh well I am sure you have double standards. Such as Hamas can attack due to decade of oppression from Israel but Isreal should stop its attacks because Palestinians have babies.

Considering that members of Congress fly flags of other nations, it’s hard to get worked up about the uniform. It’s idiotic but hardly a major transgression. The US is a nation historically accomodating to dual nationalities, including among government employees and the military.

I suspect we are going to see attempted terrorist attacks in the US from Hamas or Hamas-aligned operatives. They would be useful fools for Russia and China who would love nothing more than to draw us into a war with Iran in the middle East. A big terror attack in the US would make it hard for Biden to hold back entering the war more directly. It would probably not be that hard to instigate because there are Hamas-supporting jihadists in the US that would be willing to do the dirty work.

I think they instead are going to use a more sly approach and try to make Amricans think that Isreal is committing war crimes and that America should stop supporting Israel now and also in the long term. Their goal is to see that Israel is deligitimized because they think Israel will cease to exist without U.S. support. See how much the U.S. has been the focus of protests and rhetoric over the past few weeks?

That is true to the extent that Russia would prefer we didn’t have an ally in the Middle East to support US’s oil access in the Middle East. However, you can’t contain Jihadists. If their goal is just internal destabilization, there are plenty of useful idiots for them to use with that goal, both in the far right and far left. The explicit support for Hamas goes beyond that.

I think overall Russia and China have decided getting the US involved in a land war in the Middle East would be strategically advantageous, at least in the short term.

DP. Russia wants their guy back in power here. Then they’ll get Ukraine. They don’t give a duck about Israel, but they’ll do enough to keep it on the map in exchange for Ukraine.

That’s my take.
