It’s not just the job, it’s the relationships, feeling of fulfillment, etc. jobs like that are hard to find. |
When was that? |
+1 I, for one, appreciated the twist that the BGE wasn't the cause of Jack's injury after all. I thought it was kind of cool that the whole episode, we're all waiting for some horrible accident with the smoker to ensue, and turns out it was something else entirely. Side note- three year old Jack is the cutest thing ever! |
| I loved when Kevin pretended to be the Rebecca doll and called Kate, "Bug." |
Yes - wonderful casting. |
+1 Phillip was shown as being pretty snarky and dismissive of Kate when she first started working at the school. Granted, I now see we're supposed to realized his "crusty" exterior was just a layer of protection over the traumatic loss of his wife, but still. As for the first wife, couldn't the writers simply have said she left him due to the IVF issue - and not that she was then hit by a drunk driver? Honestly, not everything has to be so tragic and dramatic. |
Well said! This is the glaring problem that is never to be spoken about and I'm sick of it. I would have had so much more respect for the writers (and the actress) if they had shown her going on a gastric bypass journey. She's a beautiful woman, but is morbidly obese and there's no sugarcoating that. As the mother of two young children, her health and safety should be foremost. In real life, doctors AND family members would be pleading with her to have the surgery. At that weight, diet and exercise aren't going to touch the issue. |
Have you all watched the whole show? There has been TONS of storyline on this. It was Kate’s entire plot for like two years. She and Toby met at a meeting for people with disordered eating. |
| Has Mandy Moore gotten an Emmy yet? Because she absolutely deserves one. Such a nuanced actress. |
Not to mention that Rebecca doll.
|
But she has not dropped any weight and nobody has had that conversation with her that she will die and leave her children without a mother if she doesn’t lose it. It is the elephant in the room. |
Exactly. I guess she wouldn’t have been convinced he had suffered enough otherwise. |
| I can’t wait to have a whole episode with Miguel, even if he croaks at the end. |
exactly. Made more evident in the fact that Gramma with Alzheimers gets to the park first. |
Tha’s why she will be the first of the three to die in the last episode. |
