This Is Us final season

What a horrible, boring show. How did it last for so many seasons? Lol

I'm ignoring the haters.

I love the show. I love watching it with my kids and talking about how things that have happened in your past affect the things you do as an adult. It's not flawless - the Rebecca and Jack stuff can definitely get cheesy, and I really wish they could have found a way to make Kate lose some weight (it's really hard to buy into any romantic relationship that involves someone that large).

But I love the internal struggles Kevin and Randall go through. I think the show is cast and written so well to make the characters consistent across ages.

If you don't like the show definitely don't watch it and get off this thread. But for my fellow This is Us fans, thanks for starting a new thread for the final season. I'll really miss the show when it's done.

I love the show too. I was in college at CMU in Pittsburgh when the Challenger disaster happened - it was a big deal since Judith Resnick was an alumna. I felt kind of a kinship with the littlest Pearsons feelings after watching it - especially Randall wondering who would give Christa McAuliffe's kids their dinner.

I'm the biggest Beth Pearson fan in the world too. She's extremely funny and empathetic. I would always pick Door Number Beth.

Watching the Challenger in school really hit hard for me last night. I vividly remember that day - although I was in 5th grade.

I was in 3rd grade. We didn’t watch it live, but I have the distinct memory of our school’s principal coming into our classroom to tell us about the disaster. He went to every classroom in the elementary school that day to do the same. 36 years later, that footage still kills me.

I liked the callbacks to the first episode in last night’s episode. I’ve always loved this show and am sad it’ll be over, but also think it’s definitely time to say goodbye.

Still holding out hope they give us a Rebecca/Miguel romance back story episode!

I love this show and readily admit it. It honestly helps me be a better parent - watching Rebecca and Jack take parenting so seriously, all the little day-to-day moments, but juxtaposing that with the passage of time really helps remind me that these years are short (even if the days are long) and to cherish the day-to-day moments with my kids.

I can't wait to know how this ends but also want it to go slow. Also, I'm a huge Toby fan and really hope that storyline isn't terrible.

I've never watched Parenthood, but hearing all the comparisons to This Is Us, maybe I'll start it when this season is over.

The show runner has said we will get a lot more Rebecca/Miguel stuff this season. Looking forward to seeing that.

“Caboose!”

If this didn’t hit you personally in some way, consider yourself fortunate. Be grateful.

It was such a vivid memory for me. I was home sick from middle school and was watching it by myself in the living room. It was so shocking. Of course, no parent had a heart to heart with me about it.

Parenthood is excellent! Much better than the last few seasons of This is Us.

I had the same reaction to the episode--I was probably in 3rd or 4th grade and I remember it well but I don't remember it affecting me in the way that it was portrayed on the show. I mean, I probably reacted more like Kevin than like Randall or Kate and my parents were never concerned about it. It was sad for sure but we didn't have a big discussion about it at the dinner table.

OMG, Beth was on fire last night. All hail SKW!

Little Kevin really got me at the end, realizing that Mom and Dad are going to die some day.

And having watched my own mother fade away from Alzheimer’s, and wondering if it is lying in wait for me, it’s hard to watch the Rebecca story. But I do anyway.
