In the States there’s a stigma associated with Coach brand which surprised me given they are making what could be considered a comeback.
I’m 40, I am old enough to remember the good quality Coach days and the terrible cloth logo days. |
The whole world hasn’t decided how it feels about Coach yet. Stay tuned |
My teenaged niece got two Coach bags for Christmas - she asked for them. Just FWIW. |
Love Coach! |
“Stigma.”
I don’t think you know this word. |
What stigma? |
Don’t come for me. But, I think the stigma is that there are many knock offs because a certain segment of the population thinks it makes them look rich and fancy. So they’re using knock offs and walk around Walmart with fake huge logo purses. I didn’t think it was limited to coach but also Gucci. |
I don't think that is the "stigma". I think its that the aren't great bags and lower class people try to act like they are (sorry). |
Op here: stigma being its now a mid-range low quality brand, people have strong feelings about the brand, the raids, the counterfeits, the purses being seen as “tacky”, etc
Just from my search I created this post here without reviving any of the old threads, here’s a few where this feeling is expressed: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1215420.page#27878685 https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1147407.page https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1124516.page https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1231891.page#28493361 |
And Louis Vuitton |
Coach has had a huge resurgence among Gen Z and teens with the Coach Tabby. |
Any bag with a logo is tacky
|
Louis Vuitton, Fendi |
That could be it too. |
Lower class people in a certain segment of the population.
Gotta love this forum. |
