Do Coach bags carry the same stigma outside of the USA?

This bag is super cute:

And this one is pretty classic and functional---I like the idea of a smaller bag that you can comfortable carry on your shoulder:

I like both these!!

Both of those are reissues of the 90s styles. The white one is from the Ergo line that was very popular.

That’s the problem with Coach - most of their best recent styles are a riff on their classics, some of which are from the 60s. Only Rogue and Tabby lines come close in popularity.

I’m the 21:30 PP. My bag similar though black and a little more rectangle. Total work horse.

I get why Coach, DKNY, Kate Spade, etc sell their brand, but damn, the quality truly does tank when they do that.

Is there something wrong with a reissue?

I agree, but the old, classic Coach bags have no logo. They're perfect.

Just the little rectangular tag, that would hang on a ball-chain.
I'd always take mine off.

Anybody who “wears” a bag rather than “carries” it, is aspirational and thus not true class.

That’s…not how class works.

Coach is lower class in Europe and Asia, yes. No one is going to envy your mediocre middle class lifestyle.

Yeah, I remember my mom taking those tags off in the 80s and 90s.

Do you hear yourself?! Most of Europe and Asia envy PP's middle class American lifestyle. Seriously! Our MC is UMC in most of the world. Have you left your bubble?!

I’m not a snob, so don’t really care if my bag doesn’t have an elite status. I like the coach laurel bag in brown/black in the coated canvas I got at the outlet. Sturdy and nice shape. The only thing is the shoulder strap rubs against your body and can open/unhook from the bag easily while wearing.

I gotta tell this story:

Cop (actually a detective) takes his vehicle home, leaves it unlocked in driveway, middle of the day. His wife is home too. Someone steals ammo, a bullet proof vest, and handcuffs from the vehicle.
Next day someone calls 911 because he is stuck inside handcuffs. . . yes, the same cuffs. I don't think he was the person who stole them but associated with that person.
Makes local headlines.
Then cop's wife writes a letter to the editor all about how everyone is making a big deal but nobody is thinking about the victims here, and her $400 COACH BAG was in the vehicle and it got STOLEN as well!
