st albans fogo killed st stephens kid. supposedly kid got pulled for a defenseman. robinson kid is probably the best returning kid even though he only got HM All met.

I saw Shockey dominate the STA fogo.

The only FOGO in the area who really gave Shockey a run for his money was the Saint Stephens FOGO and they squared off twice this season.

Maybe it was just a better matchup.

They need to fix the fogo situation, or create a 90 sec shot clock like the girls. Nothing more frustrating than losing to a lesser team just bc they win most of the faceoffs and grind down the opposing defense. Furthermore, the ability to come back is severly hampered. it is lacrosse at its worse. Surely there are exceptions, but my statement holds true the majority of the time. Sssa wouldnt have made it past the quarterfinals if it wasnt for their fogo and landon wouldnt have gone undefeated.

Fogo is too important. The only way to keep it is with a shot clock. It's dumb for a specialist that doesn't really play offense or defense to be overly impactful

+1 The shot clock has been remarkable effective at tamping down the over-sized value of that specialist when watching games at the college level. It is time for it to come down to high school level. As you say, lax is a team sport, not a one trick pony, but currently you can't tell that by the state of play at the high school.

I should clarify that when i mean shot clock, I mean one that is always on from the time the player enters the box. Refs are too subjective with the current shot clock and don't turn it on until well into the possession.

There is no formal shot clock in college lacrosse, what are you talking about?

The ref can issue a stall warning when he feels the offense is not trying to create enough offense or generate enough shots. When the official issues a shot clock, the team has then 30 seconds to generate a shot Obviously this is very subjective. There is no shot clock similar to what you see in the NBA or College Basketball.

I assume your son doesn't play in the IAC as the IAC plays college rules unlike several other private school leagues.

VA and MD publics still played little by FEDERATION rules.

Not sure who you are responding to, but I was arguing that there SHOULD be a 90 sec possession/shot clock to minimize the advantage a team gets with a dominant FOGO. The girls have it, so should the boys.

None. The good players play summer tournaments on club teams or invitational teams or both.

Good lord.

The three men on here (or is it only two?) need to get a room.

The girls also don't wear helmets and can't check sticks.. The shot clock rule that college and iac use are perfectly fine and allow teams to play at a slower pace if they need to, as not every team has the horses to run the entire game.

Could be the dumbest thing I've read on this board. Wrong. Girls can check. Try educating yourself before you post. So for some reason the girls have the horses to run (which btw they have further to run) and the boys don't. Oh, and aren't there 45 to 50 players on a lacrosse team. The rule is not fine. It is too subject and inconsistent. Alternatively, get rid of the face-off and you can keep your crappy stall warning.

I think this is the recurrent FOGO douchebag dad who keeps posting. Get a life dude.
