Grey's Anatomy surprise

Jackson's send-off was lame af (maybe fitting for a pretty boring character though I suppose) and Tom's woke speech was ridiculous and came completely out of left field.

Time to put this show out of its misery.

Apparently not. It is being renewed for season 18 unfortunately. I rewatch the earlier seasons 1 to 9 and cringe at what the show has become. Honestly, this is just about money at this point. They need to fire all the writers and bring on new writers to make a go of it again. Hire the people working on Ted Lasso or something.

This has become a hate-watch for me the way Glee did. The writing is garbage, so many of the characters are insufferable. Meredith is the most whiny, obnoxious person - I’ve never understood how person after person “falls” for her on the show. DeLuca? He wouldn’t have looked twice at her. Bleh.

They did the same with Schmidt. Why would either of the men find him remotely interesting and attractive?

haha Idk, Schmidt grew on me. Attractiveness is subjective and he has gained so much confidence, he's turned into a very likable character (IMO). I will agree that Mer is super whiny. My mom refuses to watch anymore because she hates her. I think it's time for it to end but I will watch until it does.. sigh

Who would give dowdy Meredith a second look when Teddy or DeLuca’s sister is around? Now those women are hot!

Way to self-sabotage again, Amelia. Suddenly she doesn't want what she knew Link wanted all along? Ugh.

Nice to see Jo happy.

They never read the results of the paternity test, right? Now's a good time!

I know. Poor Link. I can’t stand her anymore. If she turns around and suddenly wants to marry him, I will lose my mind if he says yes. Run while you can, Link!

He was beyond lovely about her every last neurosis, yet it's always her way or the highway. Agree, I'm sick of her character.

Yes, they did. He’s the father.

Teddy? ick, I'm so sick of her and Owen. I wish they would've killed her off. But I'm glad that you find someone ancient attractive.

I still have secondhand embarrassment from that proposal on the beach with Meredith’s kids and all of those wedding rings. WTH was that??

I used to live this show. But what kind of season finale was that? It was boring.

I feel like one of this show’s signature moves is that the women can be as neurotic and self-sabotaging as possible, and the men still forgive and come back to them. (Remember poor Alex and Izzy?). I guess it at least stands one tired old trope on its head—usually the men are the commitment phobe cheating screw-ups that the women have to rehabilitate through their love. On Greys, at least the women get to be the jerks.
I felt like the show had hit a nice stride with Meredith after derek’s death where she was more mature and complex—the dowdiness was a good part of that. But now it just seems really poorly written. And also, WTH was she wearing that cardigan to a wedding? She looked so out of place—like she was freezing and had to pull a sweater out of her car trunk. I loved Amelia’s red dress though.

I agree. Plots suck these last few seasons. It has been interesting watching them address covid since so many shows taping this last year help us pretend.

I was glad to see McDreamy and McSteamy again.

Whatever ageist millenial. I’m sure she gives you a run for your money, despite being “ancient.”
