Before that poster says, "I didn't think that was still on," it is.
For anyone who watched the first episode of the season last night, was anyone else as happy as me to see the last scene? I have no idea why, maybe because it brought us back to years-ago pre-covid normalcy. |
| McSteamy or Mcdreamy came back or was it all a dream? |
| I LOVED it. Finished the episode 20 minutes ago, still tearing up. I thought it was beautiful. |
| Loved it too. Apparently he will be back for 3 more episodes this season!! Yay!! |
| Ok I'm sure I'm in the minority but I've much preferred her character since his character's departure. Loved her becoming so independent and such a professional badass, never found their love story as compelling or interesting as her arc outside of it. |

I agree with PP. Meredith is so much more interesting without Derek. And he was annoying anyway. I'd like to see her with the Irish guy. We've seen her as the brilliant ingenue matched up with her superior, and we've seen her as the badass surgeon and widow. It would be cool to see the mature Meredith with a real equal, one who is complicated and has rich backstory.
And can I say how overall boring, annoying, and pedantic this episode was? I have a high tolerance for Grey's overwrought emotionalism and smugness, but geesh, this was bad. It's like they were trying to be self-righteous PSA about mitigation measures. To make it worse, the actual crisis detail that much of the public doesn't seem to get right now is the shortage of healthcare workers that can treat Covid patients, which this episode completely misrepresented. Doctors of varying specialties are not interchangeable. General surgeons and plastic surgeons cannot manage a floor full Covid patients on vents. If the show wants to inform the public, show someone with melanoma who can't get surgery because it's not technically life threatening enough to use up hospital resources. |
| I was holding out hope for the Irish bloke. The DeLuca side show was embarrassing. I liked the Virgin River guy too -- but now we have some ideas why that didn't last. |
Agree but I'm not following about the Virgin River guy(?) DeLuca should have been occasional sex/friend territory all along. Not sure about the Irish bloke yet. |
The actor who played Owen's sister's fiancee is now starring in Virgin River on Netflix. |
Oh, right. I'm sure he would have rather stayed on Grey's but they dumped his character for some reason. I guess viewers mostly felt he didn't live up to Derek, but I liked him and thought they had potential. |
| I havent watched it but will do so in the next couple of days. So hes back but not liek back from the dead? He is still dead right? |
Looks like Mer will go thru some life-threatening thing again, so presumably she's hallucinating. But he appears to be real, not a dreamy (ha ha) sequence. |
Agreed! |

I liked it except for the last 2 min. Love Owens choice and hope it sticks. Loved seeing all the kids. Loved Amelia and link.
Could not handle the last 2min. What the heck. Almost considering not watching anymore. Terrible terrible production choice imo. We've been down that road too many times. Also I would not have pegged meredith to get so caught up in covid. That part didn't seem to match. |
| Spoiler alert: Mer is having COVID hallucinations. |
