What a freak show. That whole family is damaged beyond repair.

Did you see the interview? Did you hear the part where he was outed before he wanted to be, not on his terms, and said he had a gun in the other room and thought how easy it would be to just kill himself? Comments like yours are why transgender people have an enormous suicide rate. Congratulations. You must be so proud of yourself. Nice contribution you're making to society. |
I think he was mostly absent during the 3rd & 4th kids lives after he got involved with the Kardashians. |
| I have a friend whom I have known since Kindergarten. He was a boy growing up and a woman since she was 18 (we are 40s now). When she started to transition, it was not a surprise because there was always something unusual (but we didn't know back in the 70s-80s) about her. She is my friend and I care about her regardless of what sex/gender she is! I feel sorry for people who are transgendered. I know they face hateful people who really ignorant. Think about it... why would anyone chose to be a social pariah by a large swath of the population? It is also something that has been seen in every culture through out time. |
NP. Narcissistic Personality Disorder?! Absurd! Narcissism is associated with status, which he is losing by becoming a woman. Just because you have a subscription to Psychology Today doesn't make you a psychologist.
|
Yep. I thought the brief explanation about the hormonal development in fetuses was interesting. There are variations in nearly every other facet of development , it makes sense that some relatively small portion of the population would end up with a variant where the hormones in the brain don't match the genitalia. |
I have no idea, but the two first wives did sound like really nice, good, understanding people. I suspect the get a lot of credit for how well those kids turned out. |
Ha, I didn't think it was surprising considering that there are rumors Kanye is gay and the marriage is for PR |
NP: My view, for whatever it's worth. Hateful: Judging others, assuming you have the right to make decisions for others' lives, calling anyone's non-harmful choices wrong, presuming there's something wrong with others for being different, wanting anyone to have less than full acceptance, love, and legal/civil rights Not hateful: not understanding something, thinking something is odd but fine for whoever it works for presuming no harm to others, not wanting something to be true for you and your life. I don't know where your personal opinions fall, but I think it's possible to hold opinions different from mine and not be at all hateful... until/unless your opinion would deny rights, acceptance, agency, or human dignity to someone else. I think all opinions that do that are hateful. |
I think it may actually show a bit of moral or emotional damage to consider a human being a freak or 'damaged goods' ever, but especially for simply being who they are and living as they are. I don't think it's anything bad about people who have these opinions, but I do think something went very wrong somewhere to give them such off-base understandings of people and how to treat them. Our culture has a lot to answer for. |
| Guys, a request... I know it's really difficult and probably odd for most of you, but can we please stop misgendering Belinda? That is how she identifies now, so it's most appropriate and respectful to use the chosen name and feminine pronouns she/hers. I doubt it really affects any of us too much which pronoun we type for someone, but it can mean a lot to that person. |
Actually, during the interview, Diane sawyer clarified that Bruce still prefers the masculine pronoun he and him and that's why she refers to him as such, and we should respect his request. |
Guess you didn't watch the interview. He said he still wants to be called Bruce and still called he, for now. Stop projecting. |
|
I'm really surprised that Khloe seems to be the one struggling the most and that Kim appears to be the most supportive. I would have totally guessed the reverse. I am happy that his family seems to be really supportive of him as he makes this transition.
I agree that Bruce said that he still wants to be called Bruce for now. |
On the contrary. You obviously are very narrow-minded and don't see beyond your white picket fence you hide behind. IF the family is damaged beyond repair it has zero to do with Bruce and everything to do with Kris. Bruce is the only sane person in that house. I am surprised he lasted as long as he did in that household. Your comment indicates that somewhere along the line, "you were damaged beyond repair" |
