^^ You think this thread isn't about transgender issues PP?? Okay......

I thought it was about using the case of Bruce Jenner to teach our kids to recognize that someone can choose a different lifestyle and being OK with that rather than judging or criticizing. Sorry, must have missed that only transgendered issues fit into this discussion.

13 pages of discussion about transgender issues, you come along and decide that's not what the thread is about. Very odd.

It's not just odd. It's deliberately being manipulative. According to this pp, we're supposed to equate the sick perversion of transgenderism with every day run-of-the-mill problems. It's part of the agenda

The only sick perversion here is your inability to have empathy for people you don't attempt to understand or accept.

I have plenty of empathy. We all have problems, issues, and human failings, myself included. That still doesn't justify celebrating those issues and simply declaring them to be ok

The weirdest?

Why? You and Diane were both shocked he's the R word...oh the horror? Thought it was a widely-known fact. Loved his reaction to her shock! IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT?!

Also I don't understand how he could have sex as a man with women and still not identify with himself as male in his own mind.

It is clear that something has been going on with this guy for a while. But it is confusing to understand.

It's kind of like all the gay guys who go into the military to sort of prove to themselves that they AREN'T gay -- they go over the top trying to be masculine, but in the end, it doesn't work and they can't hide from their own inner voice saying "I'm gay." that was something that came out in the interview -- he jumped 100% into being the ideal vision of masculinity to convince himself that the female urges weren't going to take over.... but ultimately it doesn't/didn't work. It's like over-compensation.

It made a lot of sense to me. I was surprised it had been going on so long. I will always think of him as the Wheaties guy... all American athlete. Bruce 2.0 is going to be a totally different statement.

Makes sense. That's a good explanation.

LOL all you want but that crazy family provided him with a very public platform from which to literally change the global trajectory of this conversation/issue or whatever we need to label it as. If not for the Kardashians, everyone would be like BRUCE? BRUCE WHO? Talk about being an unexpected poster child for an issue that most of us do not understand, yet 50% of those afflicted end up killing themselves because of.

Yeah, because without the Ks he would just be some anonymous Olympic gold medal athlete.

LOL I wonder if she wants to be a cat. I've seen her transformation. Weird indeed, but I guess because she is allowed to do it, we must accept that she is not mental.

Um, so you think that was his objective the entire time? I really don't think so. I think he wanted to make money off being on a ridiculous reality show. I applaud him for his bravery in transitioning, but I think his choice to be on KUWTK was really questionable.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is an actual disorder. But I don't think you want to learn anything, you just to poke fun at anything that doesn't comport with your own internal script and what you think is "normal."

I think there's a basic way of approaching life, and this is not a high bar to achieve at all. It goes like this. Try to live your life in a way that doesn't contribute to the suffering of others, mental, physical, emotional, etc. That's it. Pretty easy. So those of you making derogatory and flip comments like equating transgender people with wanting to be cats and puppies, think it all you want. But when you choose to post it here, for others who may be reading this thread with interest because they're going through the same thing, just know that you aren't achieving the low, low, incredibly low bar of living your life without contributing to the suffering and mental anguish of others. All so you can have your laugh. Sit with that for a while and see how it feels.

Or the people who have surgery trying to look like Barbie and Ken. Interesting point, pp.

You really need to stop with your soapbox. It's an important issue, but your hand wringing and accusations are tiresome.

Careful, you aren't going to help the cause like that.

Your faux concern about the cause is hilarious. I'm sorry that a message as basic as "treat people kindly and don't add to their pain" was too much for you to hear. That speaks volumes about you, not anyone else.

Or maybe this thread can proceed without your drama. BTW, the remark about the cause was sarcasm.
