I'm with you.

I do love Gary Oldman, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Walz, Alan Rickman and so many others already mentioned.

I have some horrible news for you. I’m sorry.

For the Christian bale fans, he is incredible in Empire of the Sun. That movie gutted me when I saw it maybe a decade or so ago. I think about it all the time and it’s him carrying the movie and at such a young age. I feel like he’s the only child actor that really carries forward their potential. Like Natalie Portman was also really impressive as a kid but kind of overrated as an adult.

He's okay but always strikes me as callow, with limited emotional depth. Doesn't have great chemistry with other actors, never buy him as someone deeply in love, and certainly not a father. He was a far more interesting actor when very young.

Just say you're biased. You've made up your mind and that's that.

Having an opinion based on having seen much of his work is not "biased," sorry.

It's fine. I can't stand Will Smith because he's just Will Smith to me in every movie. Biases are hard to overcome.

I don’t think you know what “bias” means. Are you an adult?

Are you? Just because you don't like an actor doesn't mean they "suck".

I don’t think anyone has said that he sucks. Just that he’s overrated.

Either of which is a valid opinion; neither of which is “bias” - again, are you an actual adult? Did you take English in high school?

Ahem. It’s right at the top of the page. You can’t read and don’t know what words mean. Did you even get a GED?

It’s still not bias, dear. Just an opinion you don’t like. Sorry.

Lol, ok. Just vibes. He’s objectively successful by all measures, and has been for decades. Top directors like him and want to work with him, but you would never, because he “sucks”.

DP. There’s a lot that goes into making a movie and selecting talent that is not just “he or she is the best”. Leo seems pleasant and easy to work with (contrast to Christian bale who is very talented but difficult) and a lot of his movies bring in money. There’s also who is the agent. There’s also are they a race that is marketable to the international market etc. Leo is very consistent though in that he does not pick movies that are terrible and always does at least a serviceable job in everything. But to say that he’s the best when he doesn’t even really have to compete with any black or Asian actors or even any openly gay white actors is a stretch.

How about Matt Damon?

After some strong early work, he's another one who now just plays himself in every part. I was shocked he was cast as Odysseus.

I think Kirsten Dunst has done well

+100

+100000 hands down best actor for our generation

He’s an actor who you can actually see as the character. With DiCaprio it’s like, here’s this guy pretending to be different people. My favorite thing he’s been in in at least a decade was that clip of him talking to Teyana Taylor at the awards show.

You have seen all his movies in the last decade? Why do you bother if he’s constantly disappointing?

I watch all sorts of movies because I love movies, not because I’m a DiCaprio fan girl. Perhaps that’s the difference between you and me.

I don’t waste time watching actors or movies that don’t interest me. Most people don’t. Maybe try books instead of bad movies.

What in the word salad is this? He’s too white?

You’re really worked up over the thought of someone not stanning Leo as hard as you do, eh?

I really enjoy it when an actor does something surprising, like Lithgow's portrayal of Churchill in The Crown. The physicality he gave the performance was really interesting and it was quite different from what I'd seen him in before.

He lacks depth of character to me. I don’t find him intriguing at all and he has never been able to form relationships with women close in age to himself.

Also he went like looking like someone’s younger brother for years straight to looking like an old man.
