He's okay but always strikes me as callow, with limited emotional depth. Doesn't have great chemistry with other actors, never buy him as someone deeply in love, and certainly not a father. He was a far more interesting actor when very young.

Just say you're biased. You've made up your mind and that's that.

Having an opinion based on having seen much of his work is not "biased," sorry.

It's fine. I can't stand Will Smith because he's just Will Smith to me in every movie. Biases are hard to overcome.

I don’t think you know what “bias” means. Are you an adult?

Are you? Just because you don't like an actor doesn't mean they "suck".

I don’t think anyone has said that he sucks. Just that he’s overrated.

Either of which is a valid opinion; neither of which is “bias” - again, are you an actual adult? Did you take English in high school?

Ahem. It’s right at the top of the page. You can’t read and don’t know what words mean. Did you even get a GED?

It’s still not bias, dear. Just an opinion you don’t like. Sorry.

Lol, ok. Just vibes. He’s objectively successful by all measures, and has been for decades. Top directors like him and want to work with him, but you would never, because he “sucks”.

It's always interesting and kind of funny how worked up some of you get in these discussions that are purely opinion based and really not that important.

But Daniel Day Lewis is the best of all of them… maybe you millennials haven’t seen all his movies so you don’t know what you don’t know.

Joaquin Phoenix is a better actor than Leo. Leo is more charming and was better looking in his heyday.

There's also something electric about live theater, and being present when an actor is holding everyone in the room.

I once decades ago was lucky enough to see Ian McKellen live and he was absolutely riveting, the entire room was hanging on his speech.

Leo seems like Leo in every role IMO. DDL always seems like he’s Acting!. I think there are many better actors and actresses, too many to name.

And edward Norton!

He’s never performed on stage. Real actors perform on Broadway. Leo is more of a movie star than an actor

He’s not technically skilled and seems rather lazy.

Casey Affleck deserves to be up there for The Killing of Jesse James and Manchester by the Sea. He stole the show in Oppenheimer as well.

I mean…can’t even name a single one? If there are “too many to name”, surely you can come up with more than zero

He’s an actor who you can actually see as the character. With DiCaprio it’s like, here’s this guy pretending to be different people. My favorite thing he’s been in in at least a decade was that clip of him talking to Teyana Taylor at the awards show.

I used to think Leo was just a pretty face, until I watched Shutter Island. I thought he was phenomenal and that movie still stays with me.

+1

I don’t know if I think Leo is the best actor but I think he’s really good. I felt his pain and love for his wife in Shutter Island. And I absolutely loathed his character in Wolf of Wall Street, and rooted for his character in The Departed. I think he has range, just not maybe as much as some other actors (like Christian Bale).

You have seen all his movies in the last decade? Why do you bother if he’s constantly disappointing?
