| and it’s not even close. |
| Hmm. I think Ethan Hawke is better. |
| Did Steven Seagal die? |
|
Uh no. Definitely far from it. I can think of far better actors who have presence on stage and film and can do a variety of characters.
Dame Judi Dench comes to mind. |
| I'm still sad Daniel Day Lewis retired from acting. He would have gone on make more phenomenal movies. |
|
Gary Oldman.
Leo is fine but not as diverse. |
| Billy Bob Thornton is the absolute best. Leonardo Dicaprio? Pfft! |
| Christian Bale is God's gift to acting and we are blessed to enjoy his craft. I do enjoy Leo, Ethan, Daniel and Gary too, but its not close. |
| I think Philip Seymour Hoffman was the best actor of that generation. Of course, he's quite dead now. Among the living male actors, I agree with Leo. Would add Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Day Lewis. And Christopher Walz and Samuel Jackson. Their performances in the Tarantino movies are absolutely brilliant. |
| I agree. If he's in a movie I'm much more likely to see it. He almost never disappoints. |
| No way, Anthony Hopkins is still alive - so versatile! Really amongst the best! |
I ❤️ you Daniel Day, Lewis, Pacino, De Niro, Denzel, Washington. I could go on this is not really a question that can be answered. DiCaprio is excellent, but I wouldn’t say he’s the best. He’s up there, but definitely not to me the greatest living actor. Also, my personal hot take I really didn’t like him in Titanic because he looked like a teenager. Like a young teenager. That kind of ruined things for me, but it definitely means there was room for him on the door. |
lol |
| I actually thought he was the weakest link in One Battle After Another. |
He would be my vote. |
