| I so wish Heath Ledger was still alive. He was phenomenal. |
PP here. He really did. It was like Alonzo from Training Day time traveled to Ancient Rome |
| Maybe. Still doesn't make me like him. |
That’s just, like, your opinion, man. (Spoken by a far better living American actor than Leo…) |
|
Hush your fool mouth. |
What exactly is his one trick? |
Memorizing his lines is probably his biggest talent, followed by delivering them in a semi-believable way. He plays Leonardo DiCaprio in every film he’s been in since he’s been an actual adult. It’s extremely odd how defensive you are of him. Is he a friend of yours or something? |
Pitt is so good in thr baseball movie. He really is very talented but I feel like because he’s such a pretty boy people sort of write him off. I also think Leo is very talented. Titanic is terrible and unfortunate that is what people think of first. Aviator, revenant, catch me if you can and the weird one about dreams — he’s great in all those. Agree also Gary Oldham. |
Agree on all counts - especially about Titanic! Horrible movie and Leo looked like a little boy. So miscast. But I've loved him in just about everything else he's done. Also Brad Pitt and absolutely, Gary Oldman. |
| I don't think you can underestimate the role of a director. That's why actors will be fantastic in one thing and cringe in another. Leo is better when Scorsese is directing him, for instance. |
He’s been work food for a while now. Whatever is the point of this response. |
|
I love Leo. But my hot take is that he was a much more talented and hard working actor when he was younger. What’s eating Gilbert grape, titanic, Romeo and Juliet, basketball diaries, catch me if you can. I think catch me if you can was his last really captivating role.
Since then, I really just feel like I’m watching Leonardo DiCaprio in a different movie. Not a character necessarily. Wolf of Wall Street was highly entertaining.. but not an Oscar worthy role or performance. Sane for shutter island. Revolutionary road I probably never would have watched if it didn’t star Leo and Kate. That said, I haven’t seen the movie he ultimately did win an Oscar for, so who knows. |
|
Joaquin phoenix is up there with Leo.
But Daniel Day Lewis is the best of all of them… maybe you millennials haven’t seen all his movies so you don’t know what you don’t know. |
| Leo sucks as an actor. Not convincing in ANYTHING. |
