I really enjoyed it, and NK’s performance. She’s so fun to watch. I was not as distracted by her plastic surgery here; maybe it worked for the character.

The story was lame but for some reason I watched the whole series. I thought the actors were terrific. I enjoyed the scenery, costumes and home design.

It was fine, but I think they changed it too much from the book. Not that the book is a masterpiece, lol, but they added a bunch of unnecessary things (NK’s brother and NK’s scandalous past; third brother and trust that is available after youngest turns 18). They also totally changed the ending. Those who adapted it for the screen said they wanted an intentional ending. They could have gotten that but closer to what the book had. It just felt really busy and hurried by the last episode.

The crazy NK brother thing was bizarre.

I’m not quite done with this show so I haven’t read the whole thread yet. But I have to know: why on earth was everything going on as normal after Merritt’s death? The interview, pictures, book launch, etc?? No mention of Merritt’s family or her funeral or at all, other than the police interviews. Where is her family? Seems like a huge plot hole.

In the book, she was estranged from her family. Her brother was contacted. They didn’t mention it in the movie.

There also was no book launch in the book. She was more like a Danielle Steele maybe, not high quality. And her editor was not happy with her latest submission, she was having writers block, seemed like they were going to drop her as an author. I guess they made it more glamorous.

I enjoyed the show but I wasn't crazy about Eve Hewson or the guy who.played Benji. Liev Schreiber doesn't look very good anymore, bot really a DILF as described. Nicole Kidman was great as always and I enjoyed Gosia, the butler (?) and the detectives the most.

Thanks for this explanation! I find it so weird to be watching this fancy book launch when just two days prior, a young woman died on their property.

I had no idea who her father is! I think she is so pretty and I love her character in the apple series bad sisters or something like that. Enjoyed her in this as well.
