The Perfect Couple- Eve Hewson

Dakota fanning, just not attractive. She needs to do some tweaks to her hair and sort herself out a bit. It was to the point of being distracting. And no, I don’t need to hear about how I don’t get it because I’m not an ivy leaguer one percenter, thanks. My husband went to an ivy, I know many of his friends who are legacies, and I’ve been to Nantucket at least 15 times. I get it. Thanks. This, however, was a tv show.
So, the husband, Liev - not cute enough for the role. Megan Fahy a babe and a good actor, too old to be the 25 year old influencer. Nope. Eve - she is a good looking normal woman. Her skin looked really bad without makeup. Her features did not stand out. She was thick in the arms and limbs. She looked god awful in the running scene. You can say what you want, yes, she’s normal. She looked like a very average mom in her big sweatshirt. Again tv is aspirational and she is not. At all. Also her acting was atrocious. Benji, wtf did they do that to his hair for. Already plain and that did not help. Scooter or whatever - come on. Nobody is pining for that man. That’s a giant oops. The husband of Dakota Fanning and the maid were the best. Everyone else just really sucked and made what should’ve been fun so boring.

The two main cops and detectives were fun!

I also didn't get the whole B-train story line. Like, they saw each other once on a train, then spent a few hours together and then...? It seemed so random to throw that in there.

Yeah that plot line went nowhere. I was waiting for him to be gay lovers with the red head engaged guy.

Everyone in this aside from Nicole Kidman and Meghan Fahey is insanely unattractive. There are definitely unknown actors who are good looking so it did not have to be like this. Also the interiors are all wrong - that is not what a 20 million dollar house in Nantucket looks like inside. Get it together Netflix.
Exactly. I was like WTF. Also the female characters other than Nicole Kidman are way too old. They’re supposed to be like 25. Eve looks like an average girl. That’s okay sometimes but felt odd here. Also those men were all busted. And Dakota fanning looks horrible.
I feel the exact same way...when did Dakota Fanning turn so so unattractive? And the girl whom played Amelia is so chunky.
Does fanning really have that bad of posture? Or was it the pregnancy prosthetic that made her be hunch backed?

I thought both her and the guy who played her husband were very good in their roles.

I still don’t understand the Bollywood type flash dance at the opening credits. Why?!

Great song, relevant lyrics (criminal), flashes by everyone (everyone’s a suspect), it’s before the death so all happy fake faces. So every episode you contrast these fake happy dance & celebration with the new facts you’ve learned about the characters or family.
Good dissonance.
Good to see how truly fake every one of them are in that happy dance. Most of them were very broken.

It’s a screwed up rich people book and movie. Like the Bret Easton Ellis stuff

+1 so true

Did anyone notice that moment when they let Shooter leave the police station, I think in the last episode, where the cop asks him how often he comes to Nantucket, and he's like well I'm not that far away I'm in New York City. And the cop has a weird look on his face.

Did that go anywhere??

The guy who played Dakota Fanning's husband reminded me so much of Chris Pratt!

I thought it was Chris Pratt !

Amelia’s body type was perfect for the role and a great contrast to Greer. And how comfortable she was in her own skin unnerved Greer.

The awful brother even said, “at least my wife matches the wallpaper”

What did that even mean exactly??

I have one episode left and I hate Dakota Fanning - that's how good she is in this. I have to keep reminding myself I don't hate Dakota Fanning but her smug character who gets so happy and giggly at all the drama.

I took it as she’s a blonde WASP

The actress who played the female detective was also so great in Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

Looking at her stretched out, movement free face is horrifying. It is not flattering, was not flattering in the Zach Effron (he looked horrid as well), and I for the life of me cannot understand why she lost so much weight and keeps doing this to her face. She's an actress who needs to show facial emotional expressions, I found myself mesmerized with her appearance. Same thing happened when I watched the Zach thing, just can't get lost in what used to be her fabulous acting. I mean your yelling at your family that your not doing this anymore, your screaming, not one movement in that face. And what the f did she do to her nose?

Yes!! I literally just finished it - whenever she's yelling/showing emotion, her face is insane looking. Like puffy, but smooth, but unmoving. Crazy!
I will say she looks beautiful when standing in the background. There is something about her that still draws you in, though.
I also wanted to like Dakota Fanning - I want her to succeed for some reason, but I thought she was totally miscast.

YES! I recently re-watched Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and was so happy to see her here!

The wallpaper and summer dresses were all stripe and floral patterns?

I think Eve is gorgeous and her acting was good enough — she did a good job portraying slightly uncomfortable, pissed off but without taking it too over the top. The Benji actor was not good. The other brothers are okay and o thought the side actors were all fine, including the cops.
I usually hate this sort of beach lit melodrama stuff and I actually liked this one okay

I think because the “small town cop” assumed he was from India. But it was kind of a throwaway moment and unclear.
